Brighton are weighing up a move for £8.5million-rated Toulouse winger Zakaria Aboukhlal.

The 23-year-old is set to leave the French club this summer after an impressive season in Ligue 1 in which he scored 10 goals - 15 in all competitions - and made five assists. Aboukhlal was also on target for Morocco against Belgium in the World Cup in November.

Brighton are tracking the former PSV Eindhoven and AZ Alkmaar player but could face competition from Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen who are both understood to want him.

may not fit the no dick head policy?
from beeb: " Zakaria Aboukhlal has been made to train alone pending an investigation into an alleged altercation with a local official [...] Aboukhlal, 23, was one of the Toulouse players left out of the squad to play Nantes in Ligue 1 last weekend after refusing to take part in a league-wide show of support against homophobia."

There is absolutely no chance we'd sign him in that case...

Is it me or are we being linked with a lot more players this summer?

I was thinking this too

It's probably a combination of...

The transfer window becoming a separate entertainment industry in itself - there are so many outlets churning out endless crap for clicks.

AND

The reputation of our scouting department. We're probably one of the better clubs for agents to make up links with in order to drum up interest. Especially for younger players.

AND

We have a much, much bigger profile after last season.

The no dickhead policy carries about as much weight as the no release clauses policy

Don't get why we are suddenly being linked with wingers when we have Mitoma, March, Buonanotte, Enciso, Adingra, Sarmiento & Joao Pedro who can all play on the wings...

does seem an odd position to speculate on. we're not even in need of a forward are we?
maybe the writer thought he plays left-back????
