Palace are going to be absolutely desperate to bring some cash in from a Zaha sale in the close season to try and address the age Inbalance of their squad I reckon but I can’t see anyone in England paying anywhere near the asking price. Covid may have put an end to an over the top offer from Europe too.

It's hard to see where else he could go. He's good but inconsistent and on huge wages. He's not going to be a regular starter in a top six team. I think Grealish could be in a similar situation too. Far too good for the Championship but Villa will want a massive fee and he needs games. Someone might pay £30m+ but how much will he play at a top six club?

Like others have said, i do wonder if he's missed his chance with one of the big six. Arsenal with whom he appeared to be heavily linked with, will be taking a different approach than this time last year with Arteta in charge. Whilst I can applaud Zaha (quietly!) for working with the approach that Hodgson has taken, is he the kind of player that signals a brand new era at the Emirates? Not for me.
Likewise I am not sure that Lampard will see Zaha as fitting his plans/needs - Chelsea will have moved on from this time last year too and second fiddle to Pulisic, Willian (tbc) may or may not appeal to Zaha either. Spurs possibly, but Mourhino/Zaha doesn't feel like a natural fit either.. United don't need him, nor do City or Liverpool albeit both could arguably find a berth for another front man, but again second fiddle to current incumbents looks like a strange decision for Zaha to take. So that leaves clubs who think they are big : West Ham , Everton, Newcastle, - he looks expensive but they are Clubs that might just offer the most money if Palace need to sell. I think he'll stay unless he goes abroard..

All very logical but CP will need cash ahead of next season so he has to go as the only other player they had worth anything substantial (AWB) has gone.

They will have to ditch the high earners and liberate some cash for a rebuild. Perfect storm about to hit them just as there's likely to be an end to silly transfer fees (for a while at least).

I read earlier on a Villa forum that one reason Bournemouth have struggled is the introduction of VAR and its impact on penalties. Just looked and there is a similar result to the palace pens, last year they had a total of 9 penalties and so far this season only 2 in the PL. Maybe it is having a good effect on the divers?

It’s as if we were all right about those two clubs being dirty cheats all along.

I'd say we've already seen it go against him, both when Palace got him back when Man U sold him, but also when every summer has passed and the big boys haven't felt he warranted the big price tag - a part of that reticence will have been based on his time at Man U (and his brief time in the England squad). And of course part on the ridiculous price tag.

Me too. Sadly, his transfer and earning potential will have shot right down due to the pandemic. Whilst clubs abroad have been mentioned, we know he struggles to function outside of London; Chelsea or Spuds as a final destination for about £35m is my guess.

Beaky has boxed himself into a corner. By going back on his word to let him go last summer, he is left with an unhappy player. The player has not delivered since so his value has dropped. There is then the ManUre cut. All the time he is there on a long contract, wages are not freed up for other players.

Beaky is gonna be chief executive of the FA or some other bollocks apparently. Mind you, look how well he has done with the 'not a vanity project# - it must be nearly done now yet their finances are really good. Yeah?

I'd say we've already seen it go against him, both when Palace got him back when Man U sold him, but also when every summer has passed and the big boys haven't felt he warranted the big price tag - a part of that reticence will have been based on his time at Man U (and his brief time in the England squad). And of course part on the ridiculous price tag.

Not just the price tag, his salary must already be around the £5-6m per year. So a 4 yr deal is potentially costing you the transfer fee, and £24m+ in salary.
