Aruba & Curacao aren't countries either and are part of a group of islands that are in the Kingdom Of the Netherlands, along with the Netherlands.

The following are not 'Countries'

Zanzibar is the capital in the country, Tanzania.

Always thought it was Dar Es Salaam :p

Sorry, largest city, not capital. (oops)

Dar es Salaam is the largest city in Tanzania.

Zanzibar City is the largest city (not that huge really) on the island of Zanzibar, which has semi-autonomous status within the nation of Tanzania.

Neither is the capital city of Tanzania. That's Dodoma.

Very difficult to choose just five -
Brazil
Cuba (the real Cuba not Varedero)
South Africa
France
India - really difficult to choose one Asian country - could easily have chosen Thailand or Indonesia

Cook Islands are part of New Zealand.

Try telling them that. They were very much an independent country when I was there. According to the Cook Islands' own definition, "Officially the Islands are an independent nation in free association with New Zealand. They gained independence on 4 August, 1965." What that means in practice is Cook Islanders have the right to NZ citizenship, and they look to NZ in terms of defence, but NZ has no other control over them.

Cuba (the real Cuba not Varedero)

Cuba was my favourite holiday destination, we travelled around the north (top) end but were staying in Varadaro, the beach was beautiful and almost silent, it was only local businesses and none of the hotels were all inclusive. This was 1994. I would never go back as I don't want to spoil the memories I have of this wonderful place.

I also vote for France and Spain, believe it or not and probably Thailand. Roatan Island (Honduras) is also stunning but i was only there for one day!

So ban those posters rather than stop a debate which is dominating world media at present.

I'm not a moderator, they're far too busy banning me for anything they can think of to ban the posters on this board that REALLY deserve it.

(I like home comforts too much and these are the only 2 countries I could realistically live in that I've visited)
................

3 Italy
4 France
5 Spain
(I actually quite like Western Europe)

I would love to visit Australia, New Zealand and one of the Scandinavian countries at some point, not sure which one is best though. Heard good things about all of them!
