I have to say, its on of the best football stadiums iv been to and iv been to about 100 football grounds, Its just my personal opinion but its in my top 5, better than the molineux, white hart lane, reading, southampton, superb cushioned seats, the pies are a 10/10, the kids happy style meal is a good idea, some of the internal cosmetic work still needs doing but its perfect, the only problem i had was spending a fortune on my son in the mega store:drama:.the only query i have is after the game mixing with away fans for prolonged amounts of time could be interesting.

i doubt the mingling would happen in a league game tbh it was a pre season friendly usually good spirited, with the exception of the Toon lol

Lol, true and trouble clubs will be held back for about an hour, so that would ease some congestion

Away fans WILL be mixing with home fans after the game as all concourses will be open. This came from the police football liason officer attached to the Albion. The only game it won't happen is Palace

Its all part of a brand new Police initiative, many other police forces are watching how it will work, including police from europe. The idea is to control any trouble makers within the ground instantly as there is nowhere outside effectively they can scatter to due to the geography of the stadium

I'm personally unsure of this but having witnessed extreme policing at games that seems to create more trouble than it stops it may just work.

BTW Leeds was moved on request of Sussex Uni due to new students arriving on that day, nothing to do with the police or the club

yeah most grounds i have been to admitedly not with Brighton, away fans have been held behind for 30-45 mins

I have been to a couple, admittedly not in the UK, where they held the home fans in the ground and got the away fans away as quickly as possible. This makes it really easy to identify anyone who has trouble on their mind as they aren't heading for home before the locals hit the streets.

Not entirely true.
You can move between the W, N and E stands freely after the game.
The south stand is a separate concourse. To go from there to another stand you have to exit the stadium, then re-enter.

I think.

Not quite the same, but the season before last springs to mind at withdean, where we all had to wait ages for the buses for the p & R ( oh, in the pissing rain ) for the police to get the Leeds' supporters coaches out of Brighton as quick as poss.

No chance in reality. Would be all sorts of problems from the odd smack in the mouth to bigger disorder

No, you can get to either the east and west from the south, but these are manned gates by stewards for staff to go between, there are also roller shutters that can be opened to allow large traffic.
Not sure if these are opened at the end of games thought to allow away supporters into the east/west stands.

Also the same halfway across the south can can be segregated if away crowd attendance is low.

each side has equal proportioned kiosks, food outlets, toilets ect, so can be half home half away supporters.

Why is it assumed that any mixing of fans will end in fisty e cuffs ?
It happens in pubs around grounds before games every Saturday.
We have moved on from the 70's

within the first 5 or 6 home games someone from either side will get lamped between the stadium and train station.Imagine police will line the route all the way though

Leeds, cardiff, Millwall, pompey, saints. Letting that lot into our concourse after the game is insane and asking for trouble. Especially if there has been any controversial decisions on the pitch. Football may have moved on since the seventies but not that much.

You are joking, there are countless punch ups on a sunday in any town in england watching sky with plastics. Some games i'm sure would be ok but when emotions are high + beer then asking for trouble. Would only take a sing off to get out of hand, happens all the time.
