One simple idea.

All season ticket holders are guaranteed a tick. So, if you are in Windows 1 - 4 you're fine. So, why not allow those in Priority 1 Window to buy two tickets one of which can be assigned to any holder in windows say 1-3. This then presents a priority 1 holder from having to wait until window 4 where their mate might be. This ensures that supporters with a significant number of points can sit together.

Or, ask Priority 1 holders who want to sit with friends to identify a group size of up to 4. That group - provided it is in windows 1-4 is then guaranteed seats together but they are not assigned until after window 4 has closed.

There are lots of ways in which the confusion and uncertainty can be managed far more effectively.

If you know a season ticket holder ask them to get you a pair for you and your son from 5/6 April and you'll be off to Wembley no issue.

Well for all my flannel about waiting for others, me and my brother bottled it this morning and pulled the trigger..... could see reasonable numbers gone so we reasoned, that others could sit broadly near to us in our blocks or close and we'd be on same concourse etc.

Lying to ourselves of course, but f*** it we're off to Wembley......

This is possible as is, you just need to wait until the lowest common denominator qualifies.

There is still huge availability and you'll have the pick of most of the blocks tomorrow from 9AM for any ST holder.

Then why not simply build it in so that people aren’t concerned about whether they can or can’t sit with friends and that they won’t end up in the gods.

It’s relatively simple I think. And the tech solutions are there to make it happen.

My friend (the one with the disability) was trying to book a seat that WAS Not a "disabled seat", and therefore could not allocate a carers seat next to it

Amongst other things it could result in, for example, STH Priority 3 fans who don’t know a Priority 1 STH being squeezed out by fellow Priority 3 STH’s who happen to know a Priority 1 STH. Surely fans in the same priority category should all have equal opportunity to purchase a ticket, without it being a question of who you’re mates with.
The overarching objective must be a fair allocation of all of the tickets amongst fans, rather than just ensuring that Priority 1 STH fans get to sit with whoever they want, wherever they want.
And I’m speaking as someone in that category.

Spot on. If you're an ST1 with 'hangers on' you want to sit with, then wait..............no way people higher up the list should be grabbing tickets for occasionals to the detriment of other regular matchgoers (also said as an ST 1).

This. I can't see a better way really to be honest, and would be very interested if @Hamilton can think of one that is realistic, workable and fair.

We have a group of around 7/8 of us, of which 3 of us are STHs. We're gonna wait so we can sit together as much as possible.

Seems fair to me.

Similar - 3 STH and 3 who aren’t anything. Gonna buy the 3 together and get the other 3 near / next to / close to them. Worst case we’ll be same block and can still meet before / HT / after. Not got the guts to wait for all 6 together just in case!

Can I ask if anyone can tell me, when I'm able to buy, it is easy to see which rows are 'ambulant disabled' (I don't need a wheelchair space)?

Quite! I was STH priority 2. My brother STH priority 3. I waited for the priority 3 window to buy ours linked, which wasa bit frustrating, but happy in the knowledge that it was my choice, and anyone buying before me was being rewarded in some way for loyalty, cup game attendance, away tickets purchased and so on.

I think all STH are guaranteed a ticket sumwear. Interestingly its an all day window tomorrow (STH 4) so no rush to get online at 9am I guess mid afternoon might sail in and out quickly.

But we know that’s not what has been going on and the system has caused unnecessary confusion. The ideas I shared were a reaction to being asked “what would you do?” They were a quick example.

There are other scenarios in addition to just the STH one I mentioned, such as groups of friends where some are STHs and some A+ members.

There are also examples of fans with great purchasing histories who are excluded.

All this is happening in a stadium where we have 34,000 tickets and the guarantee of a ticket is high but the question of whether you can sit with friends and family is left unanswered.

No mole hills. Look at the title of this thread. People are forced into some bizarre strategy when with more thinking it could all be avoided.
