Keeping out of the political threads will go some way to achieving those goals, for me at least

All things considered, I prefer to stay on social media , but outside of NSC I only use Facebook and Insta to follow bands, acts and restaurants. NSC itself, has a lot to offer and some threads are impossible to get into an argument on e.g. music and restaurants. Many are hugely supportive e.g. running, lose 7 lbs, mental health and most weeks there’s always something really diverse but enlightening and fascinating e.g. the Bob Grover thread. Most of the humor is right up my street as well, i love puns and dad jokes…a groan is as good as a laugh. Some posters are great to tease. It’s all good.

Happy new year.

Completely agree and great advice thanks. NSC is the only place I post too, and I use Instragram and Facebook fairly similarly to you albeit following my own interests, but nothing else really...

NSC has been going for a long long time, and i've loved it from the beginning...I also try and remind myself its bigger than a few sad clowns ruining some really good threads, but lately thats been hard to do with the level of self serving crap some of them post...but I shall try and ignore and see the goodness as I know NSC is indeed that....

Happy New Year to you too...

How's everyone getting on

I went with gambling, closed all my accounts and deleted the apps on NYE. I found it wasn't so much the money, although checking my bank account every couple of days and it being the same as when I last looked is a wonderful feeling!, it was more the time I spent following a Taiwanese 2nd division match because I needed over 2.5 goals in it. 9 days in and it's great, although it would be nice to settle down and watch a game with a couple of quid on it, I don't really need to watch Sottish Premiership football or a random Serie A game. I know it's not easy to do for some and while I don't feel like I had an addiction to it, the amount of time (and money) I've freed up now would possibly suggest I did have!

Pint of water first thing in the morning – nailing it.
At least 100 press-ups a day – very hit and miss (but just about mostly hit)
Improving my posture – work in progress
Reading more – massive FAIL (if you take out NSC)!
