Tusk by Fleetwood Mac, in it's entirity with all the pauses, just as Lindsey Buckingham intended it to be heard.
Well, I've played about 20% of these at one time or another. And I've grabbed a couple of suggestions for tomorrow.
Without wanting to open up a second front, isn't the point that most of these songs are oldies selected by South Standers who a) can't hear the music and b) won't be in the ground at that time.
Please, something current that might keep the kiddies in the family stand entertained.
sorry
I don't listen to modern music as the stations that tend to play it fill in their advert breaks with " GO COMPARE" which drives me round the f***ing bend
I'm not having a pop at people posting on here. This was (I thought) a purely hypothetical thread. My main gripe is that the only part of the ground that is anywhere near full when the music is playing or can actually hear it is in the family stand where we really need to do everything to get the kiddies there and wanting to come back. Ergo, aim the music at that demographic.
With all due respect, playing Led Zep will appeal to few kiddies.
(and a big point of music is to offend the generation that went before. If it does that then it's doing its job).
even more self indulgent than the current ouput!
I totally agree and a few years ago I can remember John and I having this discussion of a train coming back from some away game. Essentially I suggested playing stuff that the youngsters would relate to would make them feel more "part of it"....his reply, which was totally reasonable was that he wasn't in the business to play trashy commercialised stuff.
That is why I asked the question earlier about performing rights.....are we allowed to play stuff in the charts at the ground?

Nickelback - Far away
Dean Martin - Baby, it's cold outside
Joy Division - Atmosphere
Pillar - Stay Up
Buzzer - half the time the family stand seems to me to be one of the emptiest parts of the ground, except when there is some sort of special day on...I do take your point but Gully's Girls do entertain the kids and presumably they know the song they dance to? I don't think you can aim an entire 11 minutes of music at 10% of the demographic based on a thread between about 100 people on a message board. You obviously do, go for it, we'll see the response (and I mean in the ground, not just on NSC!)
If ANYONE plays ANY Nickelback, I'm leaving, and never, ever, coming back.
