Dead Kennedys, Glasgow circa 1980/81.. certainly a contrast to the likes of Runrig who played locally now and then.
Great post! Hammersmith Odeon, Finsbury Park Astoria and Tooting Granada got loads of package tours and other gigs in those days. I was a great Beach boys fan in the mid to late '60s and saw them at all three.Queen at Hammersmith Odeon in 1975, when I was 6. I went with my parents who were still going to gigs in their seventies and only fairly recently stopped. They're far cooler than me!
I love discovering great music I missed years ago.I recently found out Slip inside This House, on Screamadelica, is a cover by The 13th Floor Elevators. I sought out the original, and then started listening to their back catalogue. A few months later and I now own their 3 albums on vinyl.
Apologies for being gushy (after a few drinks) but music is a brilliantly endless journey.
Along the same lines, Showaddywaddy when I was about 5.Does being taken along to Shakin Stevens at the Brighton centre when I was 4 count?!
