I tried the two ditchlin winerys, the one in hampshire and one bottle in a restaurant which I am not sure where it was from, ....they are a bit sharp for my taste.( the ditchlin sparkling wine I didnt like at all - at a wedding!_)

How good a mate is he Dave? that sounds outrageous not expensive. I know it's often more expensive to buy from the vineyard than a cave or supermarket but 100 euro plus Sancerre?
he only bottles about 500 a year and sells them to good paris restaurants, but does keep some for family. He also makes a wine called QUINCY - I think its a semillion type grape, and it is absolutely fabulous

Probably Fitou or, if anyone has any left, A Mano primitivo 2005.

wine is good in any flavour.. esp after 3 glassesses..
current fave is Hardys Crest- their Nottage Hill is not bad, either.
