I know they do! And to be fair to MOH he did say he had a family connection to Duisburg, not that the scum did. St Pauli have connections with most decent German teams - and British ones too, not for nothing were they the most represented foreign club at both Fans Utds.

In Holland it has to e SC Heerenveen (spelling) 9 Blue and white stripes, plucky cup fighters, always prepared to take the big boys on and give them what for)

In italy - Hellas Verona
In Germany - AFC Koln (big club always crap - bit of a Man City/Spurs syndrone)
In France - OGC Nice

Interesting, didn't know that, what kind of a connection? Apart the fact that, beide normalerweise ziemlich Scheisse spielen...:p

MOH / Cheeseroll:

The connection between St Pauli and teams like Duisburg, Munich 1860 etc is the anti-fascist one. All the 'decent' clubs in Germany (and HSV are decidedly NOT one) have a strong anti-fascist following. They even have a fans convention that we played at once when I was in Attila's band. They all support each other when another 'decent' club is playing a 'bonehead' club.

You can get St Pauli/Celtic hats that say 'The Rebel's Choice', and at the moment you can get t-shirts requesting a friendly between Celtic and St Pauli to help ease Pauli's crippling debt.

Spent a few days in San Sebastian in the late 80's which led to an affection for Real Sociedad, which has only been remotely rewarding in the last 12 months.

Good left wing credentials at St Pauli as well. I also bought an unofficial Roma shirt on holiday in Rome in May; hence the pitiful sight of a balding 44 year old walking around town purporting to be 'Totti'.
