I grew up wanting to emigrate and move to Australia, added incentive was I’ve plenty of family in Queensland.

Subsequently, I visited the place several times and, whilst I’ve had some amazing times and seen some amazing sights, I’m glad I never emigrated. The freedom I was seeking, simply wasn’t there.

Iceland - Edge of the world stuff, but not enough to warrant being on favourite places
Cuba - Although haven't been for 12 years and so probably not as edgy as it was.
Ethiopia - Great climate, loads to see, culture, lakes, sights and tribes, but not in top places visited as tough going travelling independently and constant pickpocketing attempts

Loved Rivello, especially the view from the villa Cimbrone. I will book again, I prefer Sorrento and the Amalfi coast just before the summer season starts. Maybe go for a couple of weeks, as I have always wanted to go to Sicily.

Is the Northern Hemisphere Answer, New Zealand is the Southern Hemisphere one, would gladly move to and live in either Country.

Loved Rivello, especially the view from the villa Cimbrone. I will book again, I prefer Sorrento and the Amalfi coast just before the summer season starts. Maybe go for a couple of weeks, as I have always wanted to go to Sicily.

I've always liked the Dutch and the Danish, they are pretty similar minded as well. The Netherlands may be one of the ugliest countries in Europe but got a nice combination of freedom and function. Danmark is cool, they are idiots in some senses but also very fun to be around. But what I like most about Danes and Dutch are that they just tell you what they think, there's no playing around. It removes a lot of insecurity and anxiousness.

Myself and Mrs Jakarta have done Sicily twice, it is absolutely lovely, just don't mention the M word...

Spent two weeks in Marina Di Ragusa, Sicily last year. Bloody loved it. We took a day trip to the old town of Ragusa itself, and its one of the most stunning places I've ever been.

As I said just don't mention who continues to run the place; having said that we had a week in Russia last year whose leader makes the Mafia look like amateurs. Have to say Moscow was lovely, no graffiti or litter, presumably miscreants currently in Siberia (if they are lucky).

It’s not so much shit live music, it’s just the same music! The first couple of times I went I quite enjoyed it, the people are charming, the pubs are pretty and it’s nice that they have live music anywhere. But it just feels like there is absolutely no variation, and it all takes place under a dreary grey sky and 13C and light drizzle, regardless of what time of year it is.

It’s just a bit dull. I guess most places are if you go there enough.

Been once to Waterford ,it was ok for 5 days. Was taken to Tipperary for a day out ,it poured down .Arrived to find one long High street ,ended up sitting in a bookies for 2 hours . It was a long way to go for feck all Best bit of the whole trip was the ferry crossing ,rough as and loved it.

I know what you mean, but it's part of their way of life and it's not on the same scale as say corruption in some African countries.
I said many years ago that the Euro would ruin Greece, it was no surprise to me when it collapsed.
The Greeks used to carry millions of Drachma in huge wads, they deal in cash whenever possible, they don't like paying tax and the government handed them a lot of loopholes to not pay tax, like not finishing off the top of a house.
Stuff in Greece used to be nice and cheap but when I go now I almost cry at the price you are charged for Greek basics like Ouzo, Raki and Greek wine.
The Euro and the fact that Greece has to be more accountable for their economy, tax and money has quashed a whole way of life.

5 euro a beer in some bars in Zakynthos Town last year . Food was decent size portions at a price . On the hole it was a decent holiday.

Never been there but having dealt with customers from all over the world, I have to say Canadians were the rudest.

Canadians from the East/Centre, especially Toronto, are breathtakingly rude, in my experience. I had a hilarious time last year navigating a travel refund from an operative from there. He sorted me out brilliantly but was an absolute spikey shitweasel. Fortunately I knew what I was getting and let it ride. Basically he spoke to me like I was three cents short of a dime

However, Canadians from the West Coast are charming. They ooze insincerity, but they are charming. "How the heck are you?" They don't like to blaspheme either. Not in public. In private they are the crudest bunch of pottymouths I have had the pleasure of sharing suds with

Italy and Greece for me - so much to see, great weather and food. But I want to go back to Australia - have only been once and there’s so much more to see.

New Zealand, the people

We have 2 quite elderly friends from Christchurch who come to the UK from time to time, they are the most beautiful, friendly and giving people I think I have ever met.
Mrs Chopper lived there for a while and loved the country.
Her brother, his wife and kids moved there but had to go to Australia, where they are happy but want to move back to NZ as soon as they can.
And that lady prime minister, what a woman, she seems to handle everything in the right way and in emergencies has put most other politicians all around the world to shame.

Always loved Malta ,the climate ,easy to get round ,nice people and decent food . Went back in November after 8 year and i couldn't put my finger on it but it wasn't the island i fell in love with. Croatia and Montenegro on the Adriatic coast is stunning . Before my time is up would love to see Alaska ,do The Andes Peru and Chile . Number 1 tick left would be New Zealand some sightseeing and the 5 days at Dunedin watching test Cricket ,small stadium ,grass banks and a beer in hand . Simple joys me .
