That’s weird I have just been talking to a friend who went there last year... My mother was from an absolutely beautiful village called Corciano near Perugia in Umbria... Although I have no reason to go back to the village it’s still worth seeing if you are doing Assisi which is down the road.

Ha ha. I spent many a summer near Corciano based at the Country House Ottavi. As a brochure photographer for a tour operator I specialised in Tuscany and Umbria and photographed Villas and Hotels in Assisi, Todi, Perugia, Spoleto and my favourite city Orvieto and also other places in rural Umbria. Great times and seems like a lifetime ago. Dio Cane

I'm sure the lack of rowdy British (and I'm sure other nationalies) stag/hen dos would be a plus, though?

To be honest, im rarely in the centre and stick to Zizkov mostly, so dont really encounter them. Most Czech people steer clear of it as well, except for a few places (which tend to be tourist free) mainly due to prices. Why pay 100kc for a beer in the centre, when you pay 50kc in Zizkov three tram stops away. Same goes for restaurants, but this virus could change the centre significantly, as rents are high etc, and with no income places will go bust. Dont think theres so many stag or hens these days anyway, think its fashionable to go to Latvia and Lithuania now. Think a few holiday hotspot favourites around the world will look different in the future
