Yes, saw them at the Olympiastadion. Worst German supporters I've seen. Team were thuggish as well. A Tutonic Millwall.

saw them at the allianz against 1860, and thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the munchen fans as they launched half-empty pints across the no mans land bit of the terrace into the hansa rostock fans to show anger at a last minute equaliser

a 3-3 draw with two goals right at the death was probably one of the best matches i have ever seen live thinking about it

Been to Munich twice and both times have witnessed superb games at a stadium I love (one was 3-3 vs Werder Bremen) 1st game of the season a few years back). Plus I have a Hargreaves Bayern Munich shirt so there is only one option really.

Rot Weiss Essen for me.

It's a long time since they were in the Bundesliga, but I watched them a lot back in the 70's when I lived over there. I think they're in the 7th tier these days, but they'll make their way back up I'm sure.

Re the club finance question, my wife's cousin used to be the President of RWE back in the 1990's, and because when he took over the club, he discovered a number of financial irregularities and reported them to the DFB (their FA), the club was immediately relegated. They have very strict rules about club finances, and before the start of each season, clubs must present an independent audit showing sound financial health.

Like many here, I admire German football and the way it's run. Maybe we should take a leaf out of their book ?

Yeah, I know, but I don't think the national team had shirt sponsors, there has been a suggestion it is a team from Bonn, but I can't find any team from Bonn who have worn that colour shirt.

It's not a shirt sponsor, it just says 'German Federal Republic'
