Although there's some pretty good films in this list only Trainspotting and Gregorys Girl would get anywhere near my Top 10.

We just aren't very good at making movies, are we?

Well I think we are, there is something about British films that I really like.
Not Oscar winning stuff but 2 off my list, Little Voice & Brassed off are really enjoyable films in a British made sort of way.
The Aussies have made good films in their way too.

Worth the entrance fee for the Gary Stretch/Considine face off alone, oh and the 2CV..

It's a absolutely fantastic film on so many levels isn't it?

I'm home alone watching the Ealing classic 'Kind Hearts and Coronets' one of my all-time favourite films. So what's your fave?

Off the top of my head:

American Werewolves in London
The Yob
Dead Man's Shoes
Zulu
Who Dares Wins
Mona Lisa
Trainspotting
In Which We Serve
Withnail and I
Elizabeth
Man With The Golden Gun
Italian Job

Any others to add to that list?

A friend was raving about Kind Hearts and Coronets last night. I need to get round to watching it.

I watched Snatch again the other night as it happens. Absolutely bloody marvellous.

Sexy Beast is superb. Ben Kingsley is horrific.

Oh Mr. Porter.. The pre-war classic comedy. with the great Will Hay, (possibly my fave comedy actor ever), Moore Mariott, and Graham Moffatt.

Dated now obviously, but very much of it's time, and allegedly it was partly through watching this film, that gave Jimmy Perry his idea for Dads Army.

You've just taken me back, got the complete Will Hay collection on DVD. That's my Sunday night sorted thanks

Council House Slags 4 - Admittedly the content and plot was essentially the same as the previous 3 films but CHS4 sets itself above the others with an outstanding performance by Debbie from Hartlepool who introduces the golden showers concept to the local shopping centre car park before displaying superb rear door stamina with Alan from Stockport on her tatty purple velour sofa nicely juxtaposed with the kids toys and Mclaren stroller nestled in the corner. Looking forward to CHS5 'Where doggers dare'.

"What you looking at?" - one of a few scarily brilliant scenes.

Agree but plenty of British films have won Oscars.
