Yet more promising youngsters but I’m cast iron certain if nothing else happens that the lack of first team ready players right now to replace Dahoud. Balebas lack of readiness, players that left in the summer, will mean RDZs time with us is done come season end, and also a huge risk to our Europa progression. 7th in the league is a pipe dream. TBS money and choice at the end of the day but thought he would want to give it a real shot.

People are overreacting on here. We’re a very good team. I’m more than satisfied with our current state, especially with the key injuries we’ve got/had. I predict a strong end to the season.

I was thinking Milner might get a look in but I’m assuming that he is injured for the foreseeable.
I think it’s Moder and Hinshelwood whom might be getting more game time too.

Judging by some of the comments on here anyone would think we are bottom of the league. Is it disappointing we didn’t get the defensive midfielder we need, yes. Is it the end of the world, no. Why just bring a body in the for the sake of it, we don’t need to panic buy.

Well, no doubt we've done well in the Cups. However, our League form has been poor this year. We have the makings of a very good team, but we're struggling with Europa and injuries , and currently we're evidently not a very good team. Injuries are key, but so far returnees are patchy. Pervis a doubt again now, Tariq a shadow of what he was. I think I would have moved heaven and earth to bring in a player or two now. And I'm a bit pissed off we haven't. I'm over it if course, but happy? Not really.

I can't speak for others, but only for myself.
I'm loving following the Albion currently, just as I have for the last couple of years or so. These truly are the very best of days. We've got a thrilling few months ahead of us - knockout European football, possibly against some true heavyweights, another domestic Cup run and we're challenging at the business end of the Premier League. We can match anyone in this league on our day and even when we're below our best, we're often better than many others.
And, yes, the club spunking money for the sake of it isn't wise - no-one would suggest otherwise.
But I do fear that RDZ may feel he hasn't been given the tools he wants to do the job to the best of his abilities. And I do fear that will mean he leaves the club in the summer. But, frankly, I've harboured "he's too good for us" thoughts for a wee while, and thought this summer may be the end of his time with us anyway.
But I'm going to enjoy the ride - both the ups and the downs - for as long as it lasts.

Ultimately we have a manager that is probably above our station and what we've given him at the end of this window is a weaker midfield than January 1st and a few young players who, aside from Barco, are unlikely to have much first team involvement.
This is the season to win a major trophy. We have De Zerbi. We have a cadre of talented players. We have the Europa leauge and we're still the FA cup. It feels like a unique set of circumstances in our history. All we really need is, at most, a couple more good players in key areas. I find it quite frustrating that we've not given ourselves the best chance at achieving something special.

Indeed,.... It's likely to lead to a sour end in the summer,..... could we hear a repeat of the "glass ceiling" type comments we got from Gus?

There is nothing to disagree with here, but I have never quite reconciled TB’s stated policies of ‘top 10 club’ and ‘there is no ceiling to what can be achieved’ with an evident unwillingness to spend on players, whether wages or transfer fee even when the FFP flag is flying greener than for any other PL club. The model of grazing young player pastures that others don’t has a shelf life, as does playing only 21- alongside 34+.

It is strange how all the bigger signings we go for always collapse. Look at it like this we have a quality player in the championship a top seven PL side competing in Europe comes in for him and we are all expecting him to be off after a fee has been agreed. To approach Leicester we would have known his current wage and would be in the position to better it. It’s the football food chain at work. For whatever reason Kudus preferred West Ham under a boring manager and KDH preferred to stay in the championship.
It’s ok saying well he have players coming back we have no idea if their bodies will hold up and how many games they will need to get match sharp. A quality incoming boosts the squad and brings in some much needed energy to the group. Not really moaning just don’t understand the thought process behind it.

If you're De Zerbi you'd be unhappy that the club still hasn't replaced Caicedo, nor Mac Alister effectively. That has been a reason why we've struggled so much away from home this season. We do look thin in midfield. Pray that Gilmour or Gross don't get injured.
We must do everything we can to keep De Zerbi. I hope that Bloom will give his coach an assurance that he will be backed in the summer like no other Albion manager has been. Give him the Caicedo cash & don't sell our best players.. give it our absolute best shot.

Well, although it's disappointing not to have bolstered the squad this window, it is clear the club were trying to. There is a willingness to spend, just not spend more on a player than the club thinks they should.

there in lies our issue, we are f***ing tight.
A weaker midfield than the 1st. January? Rubbish! It's just the same.
No we're not. We are well run.
Should we ever go down to the Championship again (realistically a possibility at some time - we're not Liverpool or Arsenal or Citeh) - we won't be going down with unsustainable wages and players on multi-million salaries which could kill us in the Championship.
There's plenty of teams that have done that and suffered!
