Best player on the field today and I would go as far as to say probably the best p;layer that has played at the Amex. What is Uncle Speilberg on does he watch the games Vincente had one of hiss poorest games for us.

Disagree. Boro had obviously identified him as a main threat and closed him down accordingly. He never got any time on the ball at all.

Bailey

He might look fat and lazy, but he marshalled their midfield and defence really well. .

Thought that he was the best player on the field today and probably the best to have played at The Amex.

Does Uncle Spielberg watch the matches as I thought that Vicente way way below his best today.

You were clearly watching something different as I didn't think he was that good. Lost the ball and dived too often for my liking.

Was a toss up between el-abd and mattock for me to be honest but have gone for el-abd as think he was particularly class.

I've just re-read this thread...... Although I thought Bailey had a great game, I really don't understand the vicente comments.

Is it the same Vicente that put took every set piece? Most of which looked a threat?

Or the same Vicente that showed for the ball all match?

Maybe it was the Vicente who played at least 5 through balls, including the one to CMS to put him one on one with their fullback?

it could've been the Vicente who was consistently picking up the ball and driving forward?

I did see one guy called Vicente who kept tracking back... was it him?

Or that other Vicente who went on about 4 mazy runs?

Seems to me, that his poorest game is still a class above most other players.

Yeah he lost the ball a couple of times and his tackling and heading aren't great, but he (once again) provided the focal point we were missing for half the season.

Although that was not Vicente at his very best I still love watching him play each and every time he puts on an Albion shirt. We need him if we are to stay in the play off positions in my opinion. He has the ability to open things up and generally make things happen. We just need CMS, Buckley or KLL to sparkle in these last 6 matches with him as well though.

I am not arguing about the fact that Vicente yesterday showed touches that were above everybody else but I didn't think that he was up to his usual standard that we have seen and was not so effective for any length of time in the game, just brief moments to remind us how good he really is, but not sufficiently to warrant MOM award.

I've said it before and no doubt I'll say it again, I'm not too fussed that he can't defend to save his life, when he goes marauding forward it's really good to watch!

Call me old fashioned but I do like my defenders to be able to defend.

ihate to say it but cms looked like he wasnt interested. adam had a cracker the rest panicked.

eh? He didn't stop running from the moment he came on. Fair enough if you didn't think there was a huge amount of quality, but to say he wasn't interested is plain wrong.

Think the whole Defence had a fairly good game. Think the match sponsers got it just about right for me. With the goal Calderon just edged it. Although Robson was the best player on the park

He probably is tired, had plenty of game time lately. Rest him :moo:

Navs for me. And football is indeed a game of opinions as I though CMS looked good when he came on. Added extra pace which we desperately needed.

Vicente all the way for me. Different class.

Craig had an absolute shocker bless him.

Did you actually watch the same game?

I thought Vicente was slightly off it yesterday, lost possession and was out-muscled FAR too easily.

I thought CMS was really lively when he came on, causing lots of problems with his pace.

Funny old game innit

By the standards he has set for himself he had a poor game on Saturday IMO

And there were 2 corners he didn't take, one of which kaz stuck onto calde's head/face for our goal, the other Buckley took short to mattock.

Not saying he's all of a sudden rubbish but he looked jaded v boro.

Agree with this. And I thought Bridcutt was crap on Saturday. Both of our full backs played well but for me Brezovan was our best player.
