depends on circumstances........ however when we did this in the old away end at U.P. in the '80s.. which was barely segregated, it all went pear shaped, got a good shoeing......... runined a perfectly good jacket when i got thrown down the stairs at the back of the stand.

However.... if its the last couple of mins, and Tank comes up to nod the winner in, I may not be able to contain myself.......chuckle.

Genuine question, how much is a season ticket? I guess you still must pay £22 pound per game. I would think that people who can afford to pay it in 1-3 installments generally dont get a season ticket to save a couple of quid per game, more to pump some funds into the club

could be wrong though

Interesting point......but been a season ticket holder for more years than most posters on here have been born..  The main reason I buy my season ticket is that it guarantees where I sit each game, and I get to enjoy the company of the same people. The thought of being "good" and pumping money into the Albion before the seasons even finished is probably the last "good" thought on my mind. Personally, on a MORAL basis, I see no difference between me and someone who isn,t a STH but goes regularly to the games. With an average gate of 5500 and "regular" away supporters who don,t go to the Withdean (no more than 200) there shouldn,t have been any regular supporters who didn,t get a ticket....(blatantly obvious that not all 5,700 "supporters" will be able to go for reasons of age, other commitments and dislike of travel etc etc..)

Those STHs that are threatening or do not renew, frankly are quite pathetic. Or have I missed the small print that stipulates you are entitled to priority for away matches.

What's done is done. What will staying away achieve? We may have to sell even more players on top of those that we will eventually sell anyway. Brilliant.

I pay over £900 a year for two season tickets and usually only manage to get to half the games. I can live with this on the basis that the club needs the money and that at least it's going to give me some sort of priority for cup tickets, away tickets, Falmer seats, etc.

However, if this can't get me two of 5,000 tickets for West Ham, when the club have turned down the opportunity to have more tickets, I've really had to question whether it's worth it. Reluctantly, I've decided that it's not and I'll just pay for tickets on a match by match basis in the future.

It's got nothing to do with you living in East Staffs and the economic reality finally kicking in then? ???

Fair enough and bravo for pumping money into the club.

I was just getting a bit fed up of the bickering and trying to bring a bit of realism to the situation. That in the grander scheme of things it is the club that is important, not one game.

Its simple business to look after your best/most profitable customers.

I have some friends who don't have a season ticket, but go to virtually every game. Given the discount involved in STs, this means that they are more 'profitable' to the club than STHs. So they should surely get priority over STHs when it comes to tickets for big games. Right?

And come to think of it, lots of people contributed a substantial amount of money to the Alive and Kicking fund, surely THEY should get priority too.

Oh, and if someone spends over £400 in the club shop every year. They should get priority too.

Personally I think ensuring that people other than STHs and loyal away followers can get tickets to a game like this makes EXCELLENT business sense, it's called attracting new customers.

It is very interesting for people to bitch and moan, no matter what policy they had adopted there would have been people moaning.

Apart from the possible 100 who applications, got lost if you were in quick enough then you got tickets, simple as that.

I think in most cases the STH that are aware of the policy of postal applications because they go away regularly got their application in quickly and got tickets.

I do sympathise with those that miss out, but someone was always going to.

I agree with the idea of away loyality points for those that go away, but how could you record that as the games i have been away to this year i have paid on the gate.

Plus we are going to need these floating fans when we get Falmer as otherwise we will be f***ed

Not really. More a case of being fortunate, if that's the right word, of having more money than sense!

As I've said earlier, this won't diminish my love of the Albion, but I do think that the club could have found a way of accommodating all STH's and regular away fans that wanted to go.

I'll stop whinging now and instead wish you all a great, point filled, Christmas (apart fom occasional AMS fans.........oops didn't mean it!).

Cheers

Who told you you get priority for AWAY tickets? - you don't. You can't complain you've been robbed of a right, if you never had it in the first place.

On the club website it said postal applications ONLY would be accepted from WEDNESDAY - BUT any fans going to the Swansea match, could post in the bins and their applications would be accepted as having arrived in the post WEDNESDAY.
Anyone handing in at the shop (or within hours of the draw) should have been put to the bottom of those applying as they'd been told to do VIA POST or VIA THE BINS.

In an ideal world that is what should have happened but the problem arose when the lady from the club, I think that it was Sally Townsend, went on Hartys phone in and said ' anybody who applied at the Swansea game would get a ticket' I did that in good faith expecting to get my tickets and fortunately the money has been taken from my credit card so I assume I have the tickets.

In reply to those who say that paying £500 for a home season ticket or in Beach Huts case £1200 only ensures a ticket for each home game it also goes towards ensuring the club still exists for those who only go to away games each season to attend. So this must merit some priority.

Quite simple. Either

(1) Get fans to send in stubs from tickets which are then logged against your AMS number

(2) Clearly state in Policy that 'When demand exceeds supply the amount of games that you have viewed as an away fan will ensure that you have higher priority. To ensure these points are logged, please buy all tickets via the club shop. Any tickets purchased on the gate will not unfortuantely count towards this score' That way everyone knows the score.

I'll bet any money nothing like the above will be implemented though. It will be another farce when the next big game comes along.

Personally I think ensuring that people other than STHs and loyal away followers can get tickets to a game like this makes EXCELLENT business sense, it's called attracting new customers.

1. STH give the money when it is needed to keep the club going when there is very little other income.

2. People who contibuted to Alive & Kcking did so because they wanted to not for any other reason and a lot of people were or are not in the position to also make donations having bought their tickets.

3. Do STH not spend money in the club shop in line with many Albion fans. I personally do not like to wear a football shirt so do not buy one but I buy other merchandise that I do wear or use. Or buy it for my family.

4. At the moment, as with any business, it most important to hang on to the customers that you have first and foremost and ensure that they are satisfied. Expanding or encouraging new customers comes after you have stabilised yourselves i.e after we have overcome the traumas and survived the financial expense of Withdean.

Tickets are not given when you pay on the gate so no stubs.

Other than buying merchandise which both home and away supporters do could some body give me one good reason what financial gain the club gets out of away supporters.
