She is by no means the only one who has left this place, and I don't blame any of them. Tedebear, you are right: it is largely because too many on here don't know how to combine freedom of speech with respect for others. Shame, because he was a fellow Albion fan. How many others have we lost from here?

Freedom of speech is a freedom that needs to be used wisely. It is not an excuse to think you can say whatever you like without consequences.

I have spelt this out twice in the last couple of weeks so may have one more try.

There is a big difference between a bit of ribbing of other posters and using real life information about them to continually indulge in personal attacks.

enigma lowered the tone with his perpetual onslaughts and the mods saw fit not to do anything about it so thereby lowering the standard.

As stated before its not tolerated on flame or free speech forums, people who do not suffer Yorkies suposed sensibilities, for a good reason, so what makes you think nsc will get away with it.?

The moderators have lost the plot and this place is dying because of it.

Bozza if you choose to ignore this then you really are a C U N T.

I bet Yorkie does ....

If this had upset Yorkie then I would apologise immediately. I agree (in hindsight), it could be seen as a little near the mark but was written with inuendo in mind and was certainly not intended to be abusive, offensive or derogatory.

God, I feel awful now ......

Yorkie, if you read this; I'm sorry, please come back, I miss your informative comments. PM me if necessary ....

I don't believe in censorship, but at the same time, fre speech does not allow you to stand in a crowded movie theatre and shout FIRE!
I have no idea who Yorkie is or was, but her posts were among some of the best on here. Miles above some of the rants and raves from allegedley educated morons who have only just learned how to tie their own shoes up.

At the end of the day if you're sensative enough to get upset at comments from people you don't know, weather it's personal or not, then mabye it's better not to post on t'interweb message boards. It's a shame that someone felt that they had to stop contributing to the various discussions on here, but such is life. To be honest yorkie did leave herself wide open to getting stick alot of the time, the falmer decision thread spings to mind. As has already been mentioned, Yorkie didn't cop anywhere near as much flack or to the level of ferocity that some others on here get, from what i have seen it's usually just a couple of throw away comments rather than personal abuse.

Its a crying shame - I'd rather read her posts than a shed load of the other crap on here, but some people took "freedom of speech" too far. NSC is a great place to practice it, but there is a line and Yorkie is quite entitled to the respect she deserves, not a slating for her beliefs. Glad the end of the season is rolling on in and hopefully by next season some of the idiots on here with mouths that open before brain engages will have grown up...
Well said.......completely agree with all of that.

Part of the problem is that this isn't just "on the web", but does affect her personnally in "real life", where being sworn at by other posters is not just a jokey post but an actual event and being asked questions by her employers are some of the ramifications of her involvement with nsc.

Just maybe she feels life is a bit better for her without some of this crap.

It's not just one post or one particular poster, but a culmination of several incidents.

As for flouncing she hasn't posted for five days and didn't draw attention to the fact she was withdrawing from the board.

It's a shame anyone feels they have to leave this board but some people do take themselves and their opinions so seriously that they invite the flak people inflict upon them. Plus I hardly think Bozza saying that he blamed god was mocking Yorkie's beliefs.

Re catholic priests, after a week when yet another victim of abuse commited suicide here in Limerick after the diocese had threatened him with legal action if he said anything, I have full sympathy with Zeferelly's views. When the Catholic church stop squirming out of their responsibilities and covering up the misdemeanours of their priests and bishops then maybe they might command a bit more respect.

There have been a number of posters who have regulalrly attacked Yorkie and used remarks about her religion that they would not use in another context. Your remarks about tarnishing all Catholic priests with the same brush because of some of their number's behaviour, and that of their Church, is they same as blaming ALL muslims for the behaviour of a few, for example. Their are many examples of Catholic priests who have condemned the behaviour of the Church in its handling of this outrageous scandal. The implication of your comment is that they are all guilty of the same crime regardless.

Thats fine if you hold that view, but there have been a number of posts that have deliberatley goaded Yorkie into a position where her faith can be riducled in just that sort of way. That is not fair because it is not treating someone else as they would treat you. I would expect abuse from Des Irae and would abuse him back. Thats fair because it cuts both ways, this doesn't.

I know that Yorkie would not agree with most things that I post, but I always enjoyed reading hers and hope that she isn't away too long.

That is what I said, well done for a good bit of LI style misinterpretation.

I dont give a flying f*** what people say about me on messageboards but I know from experiance this is a very small group. hence the warnings I posted for the benefit of others not myself.
