Playing Barnes as a lone centre forward is never going to get you a lot of goals from him, He'll put the effort in and try his best but unfortunately he never looks anything more than average imo. However when you put him on the left of a front 3 you've then got a very good player who not only chips in with his fair share of goals but also works hard through the entire length of the pitch including offering good defensive cover for the left back. Sadly I'm convinced we'll lose him in the January window and it won't be for the money he's worth, I'm also convinced that we'll end up missing Barnes more than he'll miss us.

That's my whole point, every post from Trigger is a wind up. As I have been told in the past, some people take Nsc far too seriously.

none of them were treated like Barnes has been , but I do remember Murray being slagged off on here

During match time, yes you do. To their face, yes you do (don't want to damage their fragile confidence etc). On a public forum, or in the pub with your mates, nah.

Do we stand by TB whatever he does? To a point I am tempted to say yes considering what he has done for us, but what IF he started behaving like Archer or Bellotti? No one can be immune from criticism when it is well deserved, not even Ashley Barnes.

Have to say I feel sorry for Barnes in the lone striker role. Lita will do better in that role once match fit. Barnes should be no better than bench.

You don`t need to feel sorry for him he just need to return to the 3rd division , we will struggle as a team all the while Barnes is on the pitch

While I do think Trig deserves the plaudits for rounding up all the morons into one place.

Perhaps its because few if any have been given so much preferential selection treatment (Gus)....he obviously needs selecting under OG as we don't have any choice....well we do with Lita now.

Red - Anti Barnes
Green - Pro Barnes
Beige - Meh.

That way the 'camps' can recognise each other instantly and leave well alone.

Every time I see a thread about Barnes it's always the same old crap.
Simple fact is a strikers job is to actually put the ball into the net, that's it, he doesn't score goals so he shouldn't be in the team, simple, why complicate the debate?

I sort of agree. But it sometimes is down to the quality of service a striker receives as to if he scores or not. By all accounts the service to him is usually poor. so perhaps we should give him some slack. I know it was a different division, but he scored freely when Bennet was supplying and Murray was up front.
