mmmmm

The Tampax Arena
The Durex Stand
The Viagra Family Stand

plus any other embarassing names that we could use, honestly as long as he says yes then we have nothing to worry about.

I hope that when we are on the march he comes out with a megaphone and says YES!!! oh marvelous scenes

Forget the cock-up with the name. The rumour itself is an interesting one. There's nothing a politician likes more than crowds of people cheering and applauding them - and were he to annouce a "YES" at the conference, Prescott would be treated like some kind of homecoming hero, specially if (like last time) there's a few thousand of us loafing about outside for the march.

How could he possibly resist ?

25-29th September 2005 are the conference dates. Not sure what day Prescott gives his speech. Hopefully not long to wait then :clap2:

I doubt he'd announce it at the conference. And in any case to the world at large other than us nutters and the nimbys it's not a big thing; a standard announcement on the website with a letter to interested parties would be my guess.

But the "when" is interesting. Prescott is no mug politically, if it was going to be a no then I'm sure he wouldn't announce it till after the conference. That way we'd have to be nice to him during the conference in the hope that we will be getting a yes. If he says no before, all hell will break loose!

But if it's a yes he'd probably announce before the conference so he wouldn't have to buy a pint while he's in town!

So if he hasn't announced before the conference I'll start to worry. But in any case I think the announcement will be made between the 7th and 18th September, because that's when I'm back in Blighty! And it will be a YES!!!!!!!!!!! (couldn't find a fingers crossed smiley!)

If it's not called Falmer stadium then it should be called something coastal-associated, such as Shore Park or Stoney Road.

Anyway, good news on the John Prescott front, let's hope it's true. We want that yes!

A yes just before the conference would be great. Would make for a very good weekend away.

Stating the bleedin' obvious, I know ...

The Government doesn't announce any formal decisions at a Party Political Conference.

The decision will be in writing and will be in the form of a letter to DMH Stallard, the Albion's Planning Agents, signed by a civil servant, which will start with a sentence along the lines of "I am directed by the First Secretary of State .... "

Will you still get to hear this time as well?

A copy of the letter is sent to all "Interested Parties", who registered as such at the Public Inquiry.

If the postman arrives early, I will probably post something on North Stand Polls (or somewhere). NSC bandwidth is too precious to use up with trivial stuff like this.

:)
