Spot on. For where he is in his career/development he’s doing great. A welcome surprise addition to the squad after some not so successful loans.
Yep - whilst he’s been with us a while it’s mainly been on loan, so it’s like having a new player. And as we know, new players take time to adjust to the EPL. He’ll get better - need to be as patient with him as with others.

I’ve been impressed by him this year. In terms of who deserves to play in midfield, he’s second in line behind Baleba for me at the moment.

All I would say is I think he struggles further forward in one of the two 10 positions we often use in the 4-1-0-0-0-4-1 formation we like, and I think he often functions more effectively further back when he’s closer to Baleba and he has more space in front of him.

But there’s a very decent player there. I don’t think he’ll ever be one that’s worth £50m+, but he’ll be a solid Premier League squad player.

Very poor first half. His passing was all over the place whenever he had to do anything other than knock it sideways. Then after our '80% possession' phase Ipswich ran through our midfield at will.

Great second half though and got the pre-assist for the first goal.

This.

His Ipswich opponents were far stronger, faster and more focused first half.

Second half he came into his own.

I think the reason that he seems to improve second half is because he has incredible stamina which means he is maintaining his fitness levels as others tire. So Fab loves him because he can keep pressing with energy for the full 90.

I think his overall physical improvement since we last daw him is key to everything here, he is much stronger, fitter, and its paying off

I think the same could be said for quite a few players in the first half! So many passes not finding their man, overplaying the ball and poor positioning.

Ayari will be a very good squad depth member for us I reckon, great attacking instincts and not afraid to go man to man - unassuming but he works hard and gets involved - I think we have used him far more than we probably would have done had we not had the injuries we’ve had but it’s like he’s slipped into the team and found an important role for himself almost under the radar. I’m really warming to him.

Like I saw before, he's like a duracell bunny and totally comes into his own later on in games

Pacey little guy, isn’t he? That dribble at full speed through the midfield right at the death was class
