Wrexham
Thanks yet again for all your support.

I'm coming to the Match at Pride Park tomorrow night.
Looking forward to meeting the best fans in the country.

I've got a few Dismal Jimmy's (fanzine) for sale for anybody who wants the full facts on the story so far. If anybody wants one be quick though cos i've only got a handfull left.

I'll be the one with the Wrexham top on !

You may have noticed some Palace signatures appearing on your petition.

I have been spreading the word.

Thanks for the correction of the details Lord Bracknell.

This is a route that Wrexham may take ? (by this I mean getting Planning Permission to increase the asset value of the ground to pay off the short term debts.)

The warning is posted.

I would advise being aware of the dangers inherent in this route. Do not sell china to pay the short term bills, not if you can find another way. I feel a Dire Straits song coming along.

More of the "Shape I'm In". Was that The Band though?

I doubt it.

The Football Club (which is owned by a company controlled by Hamilton) doesn't own the ground.

The ground is owned by a quite separate company (also controlled by Hamilton).

All the signs are that what Hamilton wants is for his Ground company to be able to evict the Football Club. If the Football Club goes bust, that simply helps him achieve his objective of vacant possession of a development site. So he's probably not going to pay off the short term debts or fight the Inland Revenue in court.

Remember one thing ... the previous owners of the ground thought they were selling it to Wrexham FC. It was only after this sale was completed that they discovered the purchaser was another company controlled by Hamilton.

With that track record, the man is obviously not to be trusted.

How CAN you stop this in the future? Im my mind there is NO way.

Further to a reply I posted before, if a company comes in willing to invest large amounts of money (they have the proof of the cash held, although it may not be forth coming), and are willing to invest into a lower league club (or so they say). Then how can you tell what their objectives may be in the future? ie : to buy the ground and land it is on, run into the ground and sell for retail ot business purposes.

I think Wrexham have been screwed and Hamilton is doing what heset out to do from the start!!

It is a very sad state of affairs and I fear will not be the last we hear of this sort of thing hapenning!

The same thing applies to any business, toy manufacturer, boat-builder (e.g. Watercraft), local pub.

How does anybody know if it is negligence, incompetence, deviousness, outright fraud or not?

The only thing that could be conceivably be prevented is the land owners making a whole packet of dosh by getting Planning Permission and having a vested interest in closing the firm, football clubs down.

Another example: Now how many people are actually using the railway branch line? Close down the railway lines and make money by selling the land.

When one firm closes (say in Shoreham harbour) it has a knock on effect with lots of businesses down the line, others may close as well, the same with railway stations and football clubs.

Just like Van Hoogstraten (allegedly) throwing the tenants "scum" out so the value of the property increases.

Don't go down the shops for lunch. The demolition contractors may come whilst you are away.

One way of getting rid of the accountant. Knock down his grandma's house.

The Racecourse Ground “has great importance for North Wales and we have resolved to do what we can to safeguard it."

This is a strong lever which the Wrexham fans have. North Wales is football country, much more than South Wales. The Racecourse Ground is the biggest and best ground in the north - which is why it has hosted national games. As a result, although the club may not be considered a (Welsh) national issue (not that I would say that, I hasten to add), the Racecourse Ground most certainly is.
