You don't have to like Eddie Howe (and I do not!) to appreciate what a good coach he is. Howe is a decent coach and would certainly be up there as one of, if not, the best English coaches in the game.

RDZ is sitting 2nd in France so it hasn’t declined much if at all

Having said that I’m glad he’s gone and wouldn’t want him back anymore than I’d want Smug as our manager
Not saying he's not doing well. He is, however, at the point this thread started, RDZ was being linked with the biggest jobs in the world. His last 6 months here torpedoed his reputation in the PL, and he's developing a little bit of a reputation for being a difficult person with whom to work

As an aside I have gone right off Dan Burn. The moment he celebrated like a world cup winner against us was the turning point.
Wasn’t it his first goal for his home team that he grew up supporting? If I scored for Brighton I’d be celebrating regardless of whether I’d played for the other club or not.

I think this whole not celebrating against former clubs is a bit of a nonsense. Fair enough if you’re a returning club legend, but for everyone else just celebrate.

Not with those owners 🩸🪚
My season ticket would be in the bin
That's actually a really interesting thought... would you really bin the love for the club you've always supported (i assume) if uncle Tony would sell the club? (Question for everyone). Maybe this needs a need thread and a poll?

If the Saudi headchoppers bought it, yes.
Absolutely
To clarify, I wouldn't bin my love for the club I always supported. It wouldn't be that club until those owners left

Yes, I would walk away if any Middle Eastern country bought the Albion

The club would but be the same club and I would not feel the same about them.

I didn't really care about that.

I took more offence at him trying to break Solly March's legs, in the game at the Amex - a guy that is supposedly a mate, and who he knew had recovered from a load of shit injuries.

I simply never could..... its in the blood and I don't think I could stop loving or supporting the Albion even if I tried.

It could become similar to the Archer/Bellotti days where you can't stand the owners or protest against them, but walking away forever from the club and the tribe of fellow Albion lovers, just ain't possible.

Archer/Bellotti was a campaign to oust them. You won’t be ousting beheaders using the Albion for sports washing. I would choke on any success it bought and the club would no longer be the one I have supported for so long. I get why people would react like Newcastle fans have though. Luckily we all have choices and success under the Saudis or their ilk would be too much for me to swallow

Anyway I am pretty certain “selling out” is not on TB’s radar

Very good article that. And nice to see at least one part of the 'MSM' digging beyond the 'loveable Geordies that deserve success' story.

The only bit I would take issue with is how quick he is to absolve the Newcastle supporters of any responsibility for their owners. To me, their apparent acceptance and celebration of the takeover (and indeed, the campaigning to allow it to happen and perceived victimhood when it looked like it might not) sticks in the throat. I know some Brighton supporters just wouldn't care, but I'd like to think there would at least be a bit more open resistance than seems to be the case at Newcastle. I'd certainly walk away. I could never celebrate a victory for such an obvious sportswashing operation, so what's the point?
