Coming from the man who goes on such 'dates' on his own. Oh dear. Hope it's as good for you as it is for us.

:lolol:

Don't knock it. Next time I go on my own, I might try the "hole in the popcorn box" routine. Might need a few yoga classes first though.

No wonder you were on your own - that film is shite with a capital shite. I was having a good day until I went to the cinema, than I was chewing my arm off with boredom.

Well I liked it. The Cliffhanger spoof at the start with the raccoon was class.

I love going to the cinema in the afternoon. Once or twice a year, I take a day off work and walk around London in the morning and then go to the flicks in the afternoon. I love being in the cinema when other people are at work.

When I was a doalie in London, it was dirt cheap and I used to go on my own twice a week.

What's spooky is when you're the only one in the cinema. Or the the only one until someone comes in and sits next to you.

Are you sure you're not talking about toilet cubicles?

I often go to the cinema on my own. I've always done it, but I do it even more nowadays, because I often have to work in Glasgow and Edinburgh until 5:30 - 6ish; at that time the trains back home are bloody awful, so as in both cases my walk back to the station takes me past some good cinemas (Cameo and Filmhouse in Embra and GFT in Weegieland) I tend to go in and watch something, and catch a later, less busy train home. Very nice.

I really enjoy going to the cinema with somebody - in order to talk to them about it afterwards - but there is something special about going on your own and being able to get really lost in the world of the film. I strongly recommend it.

As for feelings about 'Billy no-mates' - you need to analyse your petty insecurities.

Sometimes I have thought about going alone but as yet I haven’t done it.

what on earth is the problem with going to the cinema on your own? you spot a film, think it looks good, pay and go and watch it. easy! if someone else wants to see it then fine, but otherwise, why would you not?
are you that worried about what a bunch of complete strangers think about you? blimey man, lighten up!

Never been to the cinema solo, I've thought about it though. One of my mates is a nightmare to watch films with, he spends more time watching your reactions to funny/action scenes than he does watching the film.

On a similar vein, how about going to the pub on your own?

I can't standing being in the pub for 10 minutes by myself when waiting for my mates to get there. By the time they do arrive I'm wrecked cos I've been :drink: at a rate of knots to take my mind off looking like an social outcast.

As long as I've got a newspaper with me, I have no problem sitting in a pub on my own. Quite often get to the Long Man half an hour or so before my mates on a Saturday before a home match, and I'll happily sit there with a pint and the sports pages.

I go on my own about 8/9 times out of 10. I don't feel the need to have someone next to me to say to everyone i have friends. I'm not that insecure :D

I'm not a saddo but i am quite a movie fan and goto see the film not have someone nextt to me going "Why did he just do that?" etc

not me, but suppose I would if I had nothing else to do. Mate of mine is a big film buff and goes all the time on his own. Even went to Toronto film festival for two weeks on his own and watched 50 odd films. Even worse he went down to London to watch a 10 hour documentary from Korea. So going to the cinema on your own once in a while can't be that bad.
