Who are you sidelining to accommodate him then ?
Pedro ? Enciso? Georginio?
Potentially, any of them. Pedro possibly on the move sometime soon anyway. There might be some egg on the faces of the recruitment team if our record signing Rutter turns out to be not as good as a youngster we've already got, so there may well be pressure to play Rutter to save face (and not to have his re-sale value dropping).

Think we need to keep Pedro with Enciso Fergie and Adingra suffering net-itus this season, Danny injury prone - we need to keep Pedro as a 9 or false 9.

I’d drop Gruda frankly - loan him out and rotate Buonanotte in as a 10 ahead in the pecking order over Rutter ( who needs to develop more)

Absolutely not drop Rutter though - his assists and pairing with Welbeck has been excellent.

Bearing in mind the state of the roads, especially the M25 at this time of year, I think he'd be far better off going by train. Victoria Line to Seven Sisters then Overground to Turkey Street. Spurs training ground is a 20-minute walk, or he could get a cab.

This is Spurs we're talking about... Their usual method when they want a player is to make a derisory bid, which obviously gets turned down, and then never come back with an improved one. Levy then claims 'they tried' to sign him. So i wouldnt hold your breath on this £37m.

Question.

Is the talk of us selling in Jan because there's a recognition that we need to give this years accounts a bit of TLC?Otherwise a January sale of Facu or anyone makes no sense for us

Or is it just general media bollocks?

Sorry, might have answered my own question
We made 135m profit in 22-23 and are likely to be reporting circa 100m profit for last season (with Caicedo and Sanchez transfers included). We definitely don’t need to worry about breaching the 105m rolling 3-year limit this season!

I'll do it, but only if I can keep sending late night emails to the club.

Sure, but the current year we'll post a similar sized loss

in say 2 or 3 years from now, might a chunk of money coming in this year, give us a bit more latitude in the coming years?

That's if the rules don't change, which they will anyway

I very much doubt the current year will post anything like a 100m loss. Even if we did, we certainly don’t need to offset it in Jan when we can do that in 2 years time.

I believe the rules are changing after this season anyway.

I'd be more than happy if Ayari went and never came back. I really can't see why Fabian is so keen on him.
Remember Viktor Gyokeres? Let’s not be too quick to bin off late developers. He has had fairly torrid loan spells at Blackburn and Coventry, I’d like to see if FH can develop him.

He is a technical player, positionally versatile and a workhorse so I think he could be a Gross type player for us if he can be conditioned to cope with the EPL.

I don’t think it was in the immediate plans to use him so much but with selling Gross and Gilmour then early season injuries for O’Riley, Ferdi and Gruda, he’s been very useful to have in the squad and he’s had moments of excellence ( eg at Anfield last month).
