Whatever Gus decides.

He's the manger, he decides who he wants to buy/sell and select to play.

i'm a supporter, I'll support the squad he puts out.

I'm not convinced he needs a partner.
CMS didn't score a single goal while Paynter and the Vokes were on the pitch, last season.

I keep saying it, but he needs a midfield playing in the same half that he does, and with Crofts and Vicente, he'll get that.
'Failure' come Christmas, then I'll be changing my signature.

I did say decent strike partner which I would not say of vokes or paynter!!

I agree with what you say in that CMS was not well supported last season and for long spells he looked ridiculously isolated

The answer may lie in midfield but we have strengthened at the back and in midfield which should allow for a quality target man to hold the ball up to bring the wingers into play as well as getting on the end of crosses.

Would love to see someone flicking on headers for CMS to run onto

Very true, good point well made.

For me the fantastic, unheard of before, problem is what we'd have to give up in order to play 2 up front.

Bricutt
Crofts
Vicente
??

CMS
??

KLL
Noone
Buckley
Barnes
A.N Other striker.

We can't play them all.

You sometimes have to pinch yourself at the headache gus has!! We will only know when the season is underway but from pre-season when Buckley is in our midfield (Chelsea) we look dangerous with one up top but when he is not (reading) we seemed to crave a strike partner

To get us through this season we are going to need a few different setups but you are right we certainly have the tools to support the strikers this season and we will have a hell of a bench to choose from!

Am I missing something or is adding a target man our top priority.I have never heard gus say we needed to sell before we can buy.
Why would we sell a player that never gives less than 100% who played in a team that didn't create many chances.
I think the signing of Andrew crofts will give us more options in attack. He will strengthen our midfield allowing us to get more players forward that should then create more chances for our forwards.
As for Murray I would be very happy if he decided to come back but I think he burnt his bridges with gus when he left.

Really?! Scored double figs for goals and frequently MOM pretty much every home game at start of last season?!

If that's an awful season f*** knows what Colin Hawkins did 5 yrs ago or so... Chris Holdroyd... etc etc. Maybe your expectations are becoming too high with this 'new albion'?

Starting off okay i'll give you that but MOM for running around a bit and missing sitters don't count. Scored 9 league goals but played 45 games!

I guess the good news is that CMS has missed so much of pre-season that his absence won't be quite so difficult to manage once we finally kick off in earnest.

The SKY article isn't based on casual rumour and gossip so clearly something is happening and if it does have to be I would love to see us hold out for McCormack in exchange and then go for the target man on top. Whatever happens I guess we are likely to know more by Friday. From a fans perspective we could do with it ending but hopefully it is such a part of football that it doesn't affect the players.

A year ago most would have laughed at that!

I've always been a great supporter of Barnes but there's a reason CMS was worth 2.5 million IMO. CMS certainly alot more gifted, natural footballer. Really saddens me to see lots of people dissing CMS all of a sudden when he's such a good player who we haven't used right (not a dig at u btw)

Spot on Sheebo. Too many people looking for someone to blame, these people will just move to the next target then the next target... sad indeed.
