Would just reaffirm opinion of the way the game has gone.

Whether anything in it or not, can't get excited about lots of lolly from a sportswashing nation (notwithstanding similarly Premier League club owners)

Mitoma has consistently the best first touch I've ever seen, particularly with the long ball on the run. Also love his humble attitude.

Where has this £90m number come from sorry?

They’re reported to have offered €65m (£54.4m) - £90m is an increase of £35.6m or 65.44%…

As far as I can tell someone here has just suggested £90m and now everyone has it in their head?
60 million plus add ons for stoning, beheading and flogging

£90 million is well over his real valuation, so yes.
My real concern is at what point do we keep our better players and build a squad for the future.
Is selling our player's up to the club or the player and his agent.

Proves how stupid football fans are we are literally doing a Southampton if we keep selling. We have a manger who can’t get the best out of his multi million pound squad as it is. Lose a big player like Mitoma , enjoy the plunge folks
We haven’t got anyone good enough to replace him nowhere near.
I’m inclined to agree, whilst asset stripping and building a HUGE bank balance is a fun Sunday afternoon activity… it does run the risk of an away game at Fratton Park rather too closely for comfort.

As an aside, Mitoma is my sons absolute favourite player, when he heard he might be off he burst into tears… 😭 bought back how I felt the day Kurt Nogan upped sticks for Burnley … no, I’m still not over it.

Football really sucks sometimes.

Indeed, I’m all out of trust - especially when it comes to the process.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
We'd have to buy 4 attacking midfielders in 3 years with our bulging budget.
I hope he'd think it was a shit place to play, and put all his efforts in for a high up team in Italy when he turns 31 if no huge PL team nabbed him for a small fortune beforehand.

For me I don’t care how much money is involved. I will be so so gutted if he leaves, more than any player we have lost in the PL. I could maybe take it in the summer but now would be unthinkable. A little bit of my love of football will be gone if we lose a talent like this just for crazy money.

Absolutely categorically hell yes every day of the week and three times on a Sunday.

And LOL at anyone saying "No".

NINETY MIILLION POUNDS you deluded fools.
But it’s not£90m. Firstly they haven’t made the bid yet and secondly it’s reported that a lot of the figure is made up of add ons where there is no guarantee the targets will be met.
Additionally, it is well reported that Mitoma doesn’t want to go which is the most important factor in all of this. So it’s all irrelevant anyway.

I understand why Bloom or Barber would be seeing the pound signs but it's surprising to see supporters being so interested in banking the cash rather than keeping one of the best players in the team (and the premier league amongst left wingers) when we haven't got a replacement to match his quality.

Plus I've only just started using a custom avatar after 10 years and I'm going to have to change it if he leaves.

Folk talk about him being worth more to us, but in crude economical terms I cannot see how.

£90m is a lot to potentially place in a transfer kitty. And if Albion want to develop this squad to edge up its status I would say the hit has to be taken sometimes. This would be a hit, but perhaps not as major as we think.
As much as it’s a lot in the transfer kitty, what are we going to do with it, buy 4 left footed attacking midfielders, a winger that will spend the season on loan at Hoffenheim, and a full back who can’t defend? That’s not going to yield a player with the input of Mitoma this season, it’s taken a while to get a lot of these players up to full speed.
