My point being that adding £30-50mil to that is much less sustainable. I think the current window reflects that with only approx £10m spent on 3 signings.
If we we had to live within our earnings we would be a third of a billion pounds behind where we are today.
I’ll repeat that a third of a billion!!!
No stadium
No prem league
No training ground
Yet the abuse aimed at club employees for not spending on this or that is completely out of proportion.
I agree with every point you make. I also think Clubs should be sustainable. Quite simply because they are often at the heart of every Community and if lost it would be massively detrimental to any Community.
That said. There are some mixed messages coming out of the Club. They are spending Millions paying Executive Employees behind the Footballing scenes to drive the Club supposedly to the Upper Echelons of the PL.
Then when it comes to the spending on the players needed to get there it seems to breakdown.
I think the Club did right not to overspend; however what it is not doing is Managing the Fans Expectations. They need to stop parading the high paid Executives to the Media as some sort of Messiah.
By all means employ these people but do it on the quiet so that you don't raise the hopes dreams and aspirations of the fans. To a level which ma or may not be achievable
