He knows he's building something really special here in an incredibly supportive environment and he won't risk it all by jumping into the high-pressure environment of a big club where the demand will be for instant success. Plus. he won't leave mid-season.

It’s irrelevant as they won’t sack ETH at this point, and as others have stated, he has a contract which states that he can’t leave during the season.
I actually think that Potter would be a good fit for United.

Agree that's why I have him as 50/50. I do think RDZ has a clever marketing team behind him. The semi cringe soundbites about teams taking our players but not our soul and that 'leaked' voice note, cases in point.

I think you're misreading the room if you think that's the widely held view. Most people's gripe with Potter is the way he ransacked half the backroom team (beyond his own people). I can't really accuse him of being spineless, there's no evidence of that.

I wouldn't disagree with any of that. His comments on being an easy club to manage and needing a history lesson stuck in the craw based on the fact our fan base was ridiculously patient with him during a run of 2 home league wins in a 11 months as it was at one point.

As such, I'm really not sure I'd want him back even if I do think he was a decent coach. It would be interesting to know Tony Bloom's opinion of him.

Pretty one-dimensional view imho. There are so many reasons not to go there and Barcelona are bigger than Man U, Bayern are as big a club. Players have turned them down because they were wanting London clubs. Not everyone views Man U as a gig ‘you’d be stupid to turn down’

Yer that's a good shout. Emery is one of the best in the world at the moment, and has soundly beaten RDZ a few times now. As much as we love RDZ , emery is a better manager as it stands.

But villa would pay him similar to man u I would suspect.
