Well Pearl, in a previous thread regarding winter cheer up songs we disagreed about a certain R.E.M. song too. It seems we like the same bands but, while I have high expectations , you are content to dine from the plate of dross...

Sadly (and I'm a massive fan of Led Zep & saw them at Knebworth in '79) but the whole of 'In Through The Out Door' is f*cking gash. Not one track would have got on any of the earlier albums. If pushed Carouselambra - awful and just shows what booze and heroin can do to a Band :(

I like the album! The Rover is a great track (IMHO)

I've had Pipes of Peace as an ear-worm all evening now.

Damn you, NSC, damn you

I am not a fan of Cliff by any stretch, the sanctimonius old celebate numpty, but for crass shite this really takes the biscuit.

I agree the Lords Prayer was not one of his best. His keyboard player (who lives in Cuckfield) used to play at our pub in Midhurst and I used to take the mickey about it with him and he gave the impression that he didnt like it either.

Just about Pulp's entire back catalogue apart from 'Sorted for E's & Wizz'

Can't believe it took five pages before I thought what on earth are you talking about man!! Different Class is as its name suggests!

The Cure - Friday I’m in Love

As its Christmas I will throw in that steaming cow pat of a song by The Pogues/Kirsty McCall song, something about New York Police.
It seems that plenty like it but I don't, it's shitty.

Love Cats.

The Cure.

Then like London busses 3 come along at once.

Boris the Spider - The Who

Was my initial thought when I saw the thread title.

De Do Do Do De Da Da Da - The Police

Which basically proves that if a group is 'in' they can shift almost anything, dreadful song

Their lyrics were generally appalling:

And when their eloquence escapes me
Their logic ties me up and rapes me

Giant steps are what you take
Walking on the moon
I hope my legs don't break
Walking on the moon
