Sorry mate but you've got that completely wrong. Leona Lewis gives it the 12 year old girls idea of emotion, i.e. totally over the top and lacking any sublety and big backing music doesnt equal better it equals cheesier.

Completely agree with this. Apparently to convey emotion you have to sing as loudly as you possibly can, this tears emotion out of the song. Whether you like the song or not the subtlety of the Snow Patrol conveys the emotion.

Louis Walsh made his career out of getting Irish people to assault perfectly good songs, for example Ronan Keating takig shots at 'Fairytale Of New York' (Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl), 'When You Say Nothing At All' (Keith Whitley), 'The Long Goodbye' (Brooks & Dunn) or 'If Tomorrow Never Comes' (Garth Brooks), to say nothing of his 'efforts' with Boyzone, then Westlife joined in with murders of Billy Joel, Lonestar and Garth Brooks numbers, to name but three.

The man deserves a lifetime achievement award in the 'shit, bland, insipid cover versions' category.

Good call, hated this since the first moment I heard it. Just goes to illustrate how bereft of any imagination or craft BEP are. Sounds like something a German producer would have put together for a quick summer hit in 1995 or so.
