THIS HAS TO WIN HANDS DOWN COME ON!

Not only have they ruined a good song, it also sums up what I hate about alot of new music.

Its when a total talent vacuum has a go at a classic that I think its a really unforgivable crime. Hence I can't get too excited by Leona doing a Snow Patrol number, her shit version of a pretty shit song just equals a bit more shit frankly. But McFly pissing all over 'Teenage Kicks' on Ch4 a few years ago....rotten little fackers!

Find them. Find them and BURN THEM!

Classic case of Snow Patrol being good writers of a great song but honestly, they perform it with a total lack of umph! lifeless and dull, Leona puts real emotion into it and it needs the big backing music, it deserves it. I bet Snow patrol didn't mind the royalties either even if their pride was bruised by someone else doing a far better job than they did.

I generally quite liked All Saints, they were a fairly easily likeable, decent eye-candy, but REALLY pished me off big time with the utter destruction of one of my all-time favourite tracks. There should be some sort of law against them doing this ....

Sorry mate but you've got that completely wrong. Leona Lewis gives it the 12 year old girls idea of emotion, i.e. totally over the top and lacking any sublety and big backing music doesnt equal better it equals cheesier.

Good call. Especially as the original was a very personal song about a fight against addiction.

Anyway, here's my contenders:

Boney M do Neil Young

Boney M do Roger Miller (from the same album - and yes, I do own a copy...)

Some pedo does a cover of a track the Belle Stars did MUCH better years later:

McCartney manages to murder this Buddy Holly classic (who's whole back catalogue he owns) giving it his own same old same old shouty treatment.

It's So Easy

Edit, just noticed the thread title is worst cover EVER, obviously this is not that, it's just a crap cover.

EXACTLY!

Whereas All Saints made it sound like a bit of a fumble with some bloke "Under The Bridge" and "take me to the place I love, take me all the way" sounded like reaching some sexually induced pleasuredome, rather than the drug-induced high that nearly "gave my life away" in the case of Anthony Keidis.

Btw, if you ARE reading this Tom Jones (unlikely I know) don't think this means I have forgiven you for "Kiss."
