Always be content about one thing. Things could be worse. You are not on the bit that goes through Croydon.

As far as traffic is concerned, the bit north of Croydon is even worse - although the view out of the window isn't as bad, obviously.

I only usually use it between the A27 and the Bolney turnoff (A272), and its regularly SHITHOUSE at any point between. I just cannot for the LIFE of me understand how so many crashes happen so regularly on what is basically a long, straight bit of road. Driving is a piece of PISS, whats so hard about keeping a car in between two big white lines without smacking into the vehicle in front ??

There was even an overturned TRACTOR on it last Thursday ffs.

It really depends on what time you use it, I start work in Crawley at 7.30 and leave at 4 (12.30 on Friday), the A23 around those times is pretty clear unless someone's had a crash !!!

I agree but it all depends on how tolerant people are, some people want to be the fastest thing on the road and are constantly up yer arse, even if there's a steady queue in front of you. Some people are so timid and frightened they wont go over 45. Drivers overtaking and going half a mile an hour faster than another vehicle on handcross hill is common-mostly freight vehicles...(awaits outcry from Trev the transit).
The combination is lethal, I'm surprised there aren't more accidents.
Very little courtesy and consideration is shown between drivers especially on that bit betwween Patcham and Pyecombe where the lane discipline is appalling.

Less than half an hour ago another big smash on the A23 southbound on top of the Bolney flyover. Could be a nasty one.

Perhaps we need another option on the poll for Bolney. That downhill stretch is FAST and can be dangerous

Pretty much. How some people ever got their licence is beyond me and not just the elderly.
