I find Handcross Hill north bound week days is bad, but on a Sunday south bound just before the pylons, gets tailed back, but have seen as far back as Pycoombe, glad to be an the bike those days :salute:

At the foot of the downs
Less than half an hour ago another big smash on the A23 southbound on top of the Bolney flyover. Could be a nasty one.

Perhaps we need another option on the poll for Bolney. That downhill stretch is FAST and can be dangerous

I came through there about 3/4 hr ago. Lane 3 blocked by a Sierra facing the other carriageway, a hole punched through the rear O/S door. 2 more cars on the soft shoulder. Drivers/passengers looked OK. No emergency vehicles there at that time.

Northbound? Funny that, considering it was on the SOUTHBOUND side.

I assume there was some weekend bumper-cars as well, being as there was a car in the ditch this morning facing south on the northbound carriageway, just before the Bolney turning.

Idiots.

If I was a pedant I would point out that the A23 only goes up to the Pease Pottage junction , but I'm not so I'll say the bits just before Handcross hill when you have to get into two lanes. Those who are so desparate to overtake one last car before cutting in on the hatch markings :tosser:. The hill itself is usually fine as everyone has sorted themselves out by then.

It's remarkable how bad some of the driving is along there and some of the stories I have heard about some of the fatalities recently are truly :sick::angel:

Those of you regularly using tha A23 are LUCKY. Try driving regularly from Southampton to Brighton on the SHITEFEST that is the A27.

that bloody early morning cyclist is back wobbling up the hill just past the bluebell railway turnoff - happily swaying about while 3 lanes of traffic doing 70mph+ blast past him - only a few weeks after others got killed there....

Check the roadmaps. It goes west of Crawley, Redhill, Crapdon...
