Cup final replay for me. After the euphoria of the first game, I really believed we could win. I was 14 at the time, absolutely devastated on that Thursday night and to top it all, some Manc wanker threw a pint of lager over me.

Losing to Walsall who had 9 men was miserable. Also losing to Brentford 4-0 away as i get very very drunk in the day, threw up alot and got a massive hangover after about 35 minutes in to the game.

West, West, West Sussex.
Kingstonian away in FA Cup in about 94, at around the same time also in FA Cup away at Sudbury and Canvey Island - all 3 were awful performances. Palace away when we lost 5-nil was pretty bad, as was the televised away game at Bournemouth when we lost 3-nil at the height of the "we'll never go to Pompey!" period. Mind you as we made our way to the bottom of the fourth division in the mid to late 90s there were many contenders for worst match day, though I think I've blocked most of them out.

Painful memories of listening to those cup games on the radio and was at that Bounmouth game.

Palace 0-5 was my first vist to Selhurst against Palace(Happier memories of visiting there to see us play Charlton.).

Didn't really enjoy the visit to Chesterfield the year we won the title once they got a stoppage time winner.

Not had many thankfully, but has to be 5-1 against Plymouth. Carpenter got sent off I believe as well.

Some of the Withdean visits towards the end of the pre-Poyet era were pretty bad. Forking out lots of money and hoping for improvement but never getting any. But one particular game I will not forget for general shittyness of experience was a 1-1 draw at home to Luton. Noel-Williams scored on his debut for us but a second half Mcshane og made it abundantly clear to me that we were not going to get out of trouble. It absolutely pissed it down all game and I was completely soaked through.

Brighton v Leeds, 09-10 I remember it was pouring with rain beckford and co smashed us 3-0. Plus I had my haircut before the game, so when the rain hit my head all the small hairs were scattered over my face. Wasn't a pretty site.

Over there
Fantastic stories, it is so wrong but I chuckled over catfish story about going to Grimsby getting stuffed 5-0 and getting a kicking after. Horrible stuff but the epitomy of a shit day.
Oh and I forgot about being present at selhurst when we lost 5-0 and got thumped by a lovely met police officer because I had the temerity to leave early.

Most miserable games - April 2006

Sheff Wed at the Withdean lost 2-0 then the Stoke 5-1 defeat at the Withdean
Got relegated and after one of these games I also missed the first bus outside and stood in the pouring rain for ages waiting for another one. New Stadium felt so long away.

I still think of those times when at the AMEX and it makes me appreciate the current good times even more.

Norwich away in the FA cup 2003. Mammoth journey, freezing cold sleet and snow when we got there, pre-match floodlight failure meant the match was abandoned before it had begun.

1 walton and hersham at home, midweek game in the afternoon bunked off school got beat 0-4
2 hull city away got in sight of ground to be told by a steward walking the other way "game off"
3 cardiff city away won 1-0 1976 no segregation got chased out the ground by about 40 cardiff!!!!!!:moo:

Was that the game where Mellor scored with an overhead kick across the goal from the goal line by the edge of the 6 yard box - our only shot of the game I seem to remember? Frightening day.

Brighton land
Palace 5-0 away meant the most,
losing to Notts C at Wembley - was totally gutted

Worse away game (non match related) away tie to Millwall at OLd Den in Play off Semi Final, It was an extremely intimidating and frightening experience....... thought we were going to get killed getting back to London Bridge station..... Baghdad would be safer than Bermondsey that night. Me and my mate were spat on, punched (with the old bill right there), had bricks and bottles chucked at us at another point, chased for about 1 mile through scumsville.

I was there that night, bit scary....I remember after the game when we were kept in a while some of their fans decided to light a pretty big fire on the terraces!! lovely people!

Does anyone else go past Withdean now, look at it and feel like it was all a bad dream? Can't believe that so many years were spent there.

Everywhere
Both mine involved Notts county and both were from the 90/91 season. PLayed Notts County away on new years day I think and we broke down 4 times on the way back in my step dads clapped out ford escort, got home about 6am. Then obviously the play off final, for an 8 year old it felt like my world had ended! Always hated Tommy Johnson forever after that game.
