As long as I get to have a day/evening out on the beer with mates, sing a bit, shout at the referee and forget about everyday woes for a few hours then all is well.

Of course getting to the top table would be just the cherry on top, but hey, that's not what it's all about for me and never had been.

Just sit back, strap yourself in and enjoy the ride.

It has always been thus.

Sums my views up in a nutshell.

Fair enough my old nemesis.

Ah this is nice, kind of like some Star Trekian Romulan, Klingon 'peace' treaty... I'm just waiting for the War Bird to de-cloak and blow my ass to the nearest nebula.

****kkery these drugs are great.

This for me too. I go to watch a match, meet up with friends and go to some away matches. Of course, it's great when we win or get promotion, but I'm not worried about it.
There are people who get paid a lot of money who can worry about that. It's not my responsibility to worry about it.
I care, of course, I care, but that's not the same as worrying.

Yes, I've voted worried.

Why Kdogg? For the love of God why?

Well, brace yourselves.

I think we were a wee bit lucky last season, this combined with Bong, Lua-Lua, March et al starting the season like greased Cougars. This year I think we'll start slow, fail to build momentum early and fall short. And this even if we retain the current crop and even add to it. The additions won't gel/arrive until Jan... nah I'm worried.

We've stood still for too long this year... I mean to expect Bruno to match last season hmmmm it's going to be tough out there... No surprises this time around, they'll be up at our throats from day one.

Last season we had the worst injury crisis that I can remember, not only our club having, but nearly any club having.
We still only missed out by TWO goals, we got 89 points, which, most years would see us up as champions, and certainly promoted at least. At one stage, we had six long term (over six weeks) injuries to our best starting 11. Bobby was excellent for about three months, then time caught up with him, Kas started the season brilliantly, then got a long injury, Solly stepped up, then got a long term injury, Bong was brilliant, then got a long term injury, so, Rosie stepped in, and the day AFTER the loan window shut, he got, you guessed it ,a long term injury.
I saw some of the worst refereeing, in the last few games, that I have ever seen in 45years watching the game, we all know what they were, and yet, we were still the best team in the division over the last 3 months.
I would love another season, like last year, but, with just a fairer rub of the green

Well, worried is bringing up the rear.

Good on those positive people, I however remain massively grim.

Time for a half full glass of tepid beer, it'll be flat too, I don't know why I bother.

Not worried but I have concern as to how other club interest might affect Stephens and Knockeart, particularly Nocky. If they play to their potential I am very positive. As long as we are in the top third (at the start) I will be happy. The first games will be all important for the season as a whole. I want to be reassured that there is no hangover from last season. The friendlies have got me sitting on the fence over this.

Beautifully illustrating around 15% of my overall 'worry' level. Top post and yes spot on.

You actually seem like a decent bloke to be honest, I probably don't understand half of what you post but there you go.

To not try to understand would make me ignorant of others, I will meet my maker knowing I tried.

Just realised I need to get stuff together to save the memories of the last fifty years of going to the Albion with them both.

Indeed, I wonder how the % will look after 'Bruno gate' come the weekend hmmmmmm...

Only joking.

Heh heh etc.

Bruno is one of my all time favourite Albion players, there will be no Brunogate, even if he is played totally out of position. He will give 100%. It should not have come to this btw. Not so impressive by the lauded recruitment team.

So they have their finger in the pulse but have spent three years chasing a player you don't rate?

You trusting man you

I am worried, we are light at CB, we have had plenty of time to sort that out. Not that efficient of the recruitment team IMO.

We are light up front, we need pace, guile and a goal poacher to play off the lummoxes :)wink:)

The good thing is that we have two players up front who can profit big time form crosses from Skalak and Knocky (assuming he stays..)

Not forgetting we may lose a couple of our best players

Not sure what's to get too excited about at the moment tbh

PS I love Murray, the above comments about him are just tongue in cheek

If your going to comment on others posts great, but don't misquote. Never said I don't rate him, he's good to have as back up, on the bench. But at present I see nothing from him that inspires me that he'll take the Championship by storm. And let's face it, the guys virtually 33, which is okay for a goalkeeper, a bit old for a defender and progressively older the more forward you go.

"Not that efficient of the recruitment team" you say. Enlighten us, because you are the only supporter I know who has a clue what goes on in 'Trades'?
And if you don't think I'm right to trust Paul Winstanley and his team, you clearly have forgotten the feckin fiasco wreaked by David Burke and his gang..... Spending God only knows how much dosh for third rate loans to sit on the bench all season. I thank them immensely for Knocky, Skalak, Kayal and Hemed.

Not disagreeing that the recruitment team have done a fine job but you don't think we've come up short starting a season with one fit CB? Love to see one signed over the next couple of days to make me look a complete mug..again.

This has to be one of the most ridiculous posts ever.

We failed to go up with the most points in 20 years. 89 points. 89 points. That is almost two points a game.

We also had a massive injury list over Christmas, which cost us promotion and led to our only bad run of the season. Once we got our full team together we won 13 of our last 20 games.

I'm not saying we won't start slowly, we have a tough start, but don't make up lies about last season to justify it.

We were horrendously unlucky not to go up. Also, you mention Bong and LuaLua starting the season so well. Surely we were unlucky that they got injured when playing well rather than lucky that they played well. March started the season very slowly and then had a great run, again followed by injury.

And, as if that wasn't enough, we had an awful decision in our decisive game when we'd just got back in it. Then, having had to settle for the play offs, we lost four (yes four) players to injury in the first leg of the play offs. And then, when absolutely dominant and back in the game in the second leg, we conceded a goal to an absolutely blatant foul.

Those are the facts. Now tell me exactly how that can be lucky.

Post of the close season! :clap2::clap2::clap2: We may or may not have such a good season but we were magnificent and so unlucky last year...
