I'll throw the TASMANIAN DEVIL into the mix. They have been known to take prey up to the size of a Kangaroo. Considering they're the size of a small dog, that = HARD.

And also the MONGOOSE. These things have no fear. They'll attack King Cobras, Lions etc., just because they can.

They're both FIERCE.

Just look at it. Oh and it doesn't die, naturally, ever. Obvious nominee.

The Colossal Squid

So hard that no-one knows much about it because whenever one gets close, they run far, far away. King of the ocean.

Crown of Thorns Starfish

Destroys everything in its path. Including the Great Barrier Reef

Not only does it have a batman symbol on his chest, he is one mean mother****er.

" a savage animal, sometimes attacking without provocation, and inflicting horrible wounds, attacking generally the head and face with their claws, while using their teeth also on a prostrate victim. It is not uncommon to see men who have been terribly mutilated, some having the scalp torn from the head, and many sportsmen have been killed by these bears"

Stone Fish - Lying camouflaged on the ocean floor, this ugly little mass of destruction calmly waits for other fish to swim by before opening its jaws with lightning speed and consuming its prey…all in less than .015 seconds. Also known as the “worlds most venomous fish”, stepping on its spines will at best cost you your leg and at worst, your life.

This snail not only loves salt (it lives in the sea) one drop of this guys venom is enough to kill 20 humans, and there is no anti venom.

2nd nomination is the water bear
They can survive 1000 times more radiation than any other animals. With temperatures as low as -272°C and as high as 151°C, they’re adapt to survive and they can survive over a decade without water. Plus, they can survive a vacuum of space for as long as 10 days.

"Let's roll"

It is a lethal animal because of its dangerous, poisonous bite, the powerful poison present in its bite causes in its victim an increase in flow of blood, thinning of the blood, muscle paralysis and therefore creating a condition of shock and loss of consciousness. Its sharp jagged teeth are used to create a cavernous wound in its victim and making the poison to flow smoothly. It is an uncertain and aggressive animal that in case of danger shows its aggression by opening its mouth, wheezing and swinging its tail. Because of the flexibility of its skull and jaw it is able to swallow huge pieces at a time.

Chaps, chaps - get on the Bobbit Worm bandwagon, the thing is a beast!!

Bobbit Worms are massive, nocturnal polychaete worms whose front end is dominated by a pair of astonishingly cruel jaws. Most creatures have their implements of death hidden beneath cheeks, lips or friendly smiles, but the Bobbit Worm has them right out on show. It's like if deer used their antlers to capture and kill struggling prey.

Bobbit Worms come from warm, shallow waters in the Indo-Pacific area. Average adult length seems to be around 1 metre (3.3 feet), but it's said that some individuals have been found to be some 3 metres (9.8 ft) long!

They're ambush predators, spending their time in burrows with their head emerging from the sand and awaiting an opportunity to be vicious and deadly.

This opportunity is sensed using 3 antennae and 2 palps that point up from the head. They also have a pair of eyes but they don't seem to be so useful.

When a hapless fish approaches the burrow, the Bobbit attacks. Lunging with astonishing and rather unwormlike speed, the Bobbit shuts its powerful, serrated jaws with such force that victims are sometimes sliced in half.

A super-aggressive worm that can grow to be as large as ten feet long — one that is extremely fast and possesses extremely sharp teeth that it uses to sometimes even slice its prey clean in half. One that is covered in stinging bristles that cause permanent numbness to the area that is stung — permanent, as in you never get feeling in the area back. One that keeps its — sometimes very long body — buried in the sea floor nearly all of the time, simply popping its head/upper-body out to hunt.

I'd nominate the Frilled Shark - can shallow an opponent nearly double its size whole, I mean look at the beast!!

"Seldom observed, the frilled shark may capture prey by bending its body and lunging forward like a snake. The long, extremely flexible jaws enable it to swallow prey whole, while its many rows of small, needle-like teeth make it difficult for the prey to escape. It feeds mainly on cephalopods, leavened by bony fishes and other sharks."

Also I'd like to nominate the Lungfish, more as it has been around FOREVER (in some form), since the dawn of time, dates back to pre-dinosaurs and were the HARD SOB's who said, 'right see that land, i'm going to explore that', might not be the fiercest, but they have the hard mentality, and can survive.
They can also breathe underwater or with air.
