Whats home park about? never been but always had the image it was a awful ground

3 sides have been redeveloped, the one on the left from the away end would (imo) need to be rebuilt before they considered it

Milton Keynes shouldn't even have a bloody team in the Football League, much less potentially be hosting some of the best players on the planet.

Rather MK than another in London

Not for me. I'd rather ONLY London grounds were used than this travesty. Home of football? FFS. The FA let Winkelman steal a team and introduce the idea of a franchise into English football, then a few years later basically reward him for doing so by giving them WC matches? It's absolutely unbelievable. I don't care if it's the finest stadium in the world, it shouldn't even have been allowed to submit a bid for consideration. The FA are now so far out of touch it beggars belief, even for them. An absolutely disgraceful decision and one that, regardless of whether they agree with it, spits in the face of all true fans, not just Wimbledon supporters.

But FIFA will look at more logistical factors when assesing the bid. MK (although a shithole) is a good place to hold large events. On paper it is a good venue, so if it helps our bid, i can't say i really give two shits.

How on earth did Home Park get in on this.
Falmer would have been better by far.

I would have thought Falmer must have a good chance of being the base of one or two of the teams in the group stages, at least. I assume there will be a group based in London, but fans and players probably won't actually stay there, they may well stay within reasonable distance and only travel for games. In non footballing business terms this could produce more income for the Brighton area with one or two groups of fans staying for 10 days or so, with 3 trips to London for games. The rest of the time they will be able to enjoy the delights of Sussex by the Sea.

So much for the speculation that Anfield would not make the cut..imagine the f***ing MOANING if the bindippers thought they would be missing out on all that top robbing from naive foreigners to their fair shithole.

And if it doesn't help our bid because there are people in less commercially-driven football associations around the world, who have a vote, who don't like it? Not everybody with a vote will be quite so cynical as to overlook the genesis and dearth of historical reasons for such a venue.

If we had'nt have had all that bollocks from lewes we would have been in the mix to host WC games IMO

I knew when I read the title of this thread, there would be a few people attacking the idea of Milton Keynes as a venue. I like most Albion fans at the time was appalled at the way Wimbledon FC was allowed to die and the underhand methods (and believe me there were some real backhanders floating around MK at the time) that led to the creation of the MK Dons. But time moves on and you have to look at the picture now.

The Stadium MK is a magnicient stadium and when its final tier of seats are put in will rank as one of the best in the country. It has excellent parking facilities and other amenities, first class rail and road links and a plethora of hotel accomodation for fans to stay in as well as numerous bars, restaurants and entertainment venues. It is of close very close to London and central in location to the rest of England. In addition, the MK Dons, whether we like it or not, have worked hard to establish football here, with numerous marketing initiatives and outreach programmes to the schools and other groups. Their gates have been excellent and there is of course a rapidly growing population that supports football, including, I'm pleased to say, at least 40 plus Albion fans in MK. It is a logical choice, that should be made, despite what happened in the past.

That MK is also a soulless and to me a ghastly place to live, from which I am planning to escape, does not mean it is not right to include it as a venue to host a world cup game.
