dont understand why there would be a problem with Anfield tbh, the capacity is more than several others mentioned. same for Goodison. though maybe the mere risk of losing WC game in Liverpool might make the clubs sort out a single shared ground.

The issue with both the stadiums in Liverpool is that they are out of date & they cant get planning permission for new ones and even if they did, would they be built in time.

Its a shame that we havent entered the race as Brighton would meet the criteria as a host city but oh well

how many are chosen(lazy moment) having a quick look at the list i would say old trafford is 100% just because its manc united etc, the emirates imo is the best stadium in England so must be used. The new Bristol stadium would be good as the area is in need of a decent stadium and a major city such as Bristol should be used.

other than those the north east needs a stadium-st james park
nottingham is very central-large city so would probably succeed.

not sure about leeds, its a pretty run down stadium these days. plymouth might be used as a smaller venue. Hull is a decent stadium but you might beed to re-vamp the entire city first:lolol:

everton and liverpool..naaaa

How can anyone seriously vote for Milton Keynes?

The venues should IMHO be places where football is part of the culture - not in a town who bought their way into their league in such a shameful manner.

Could you imagine being a fan visiting England for the World Cup and having to see your side play in Milton Keynes?

I would rather there were games at Selhurst or Fratton Park.

Shocking isn’t it?!

Feel sorry for City fans this project so much and it seems they will have to settle for this monstrosity. It looks like a royal mail warehouse.

no city of manchester option? have they not gone for it? OT is shite i'd rather have it at COMS representing Manchester.

IMO they should have host cities - not grounds - so they nicer the city the better the chance, so hull, sunderland, derby no-no whereas bristol, nottingham, yee-hah!

I think it is on the list yes but with the exception of london they are planning on only using one stadium per city

I'd like to see Anfield in there and a ground like Hillsborough, just because from a personal view they are my favourite kind of stadiums and are the perfect example of british football grounds. They can get a good atmosphere going, and it'd be nice to have some classic well known stadiums in the proposal instead of every ground being a brand new shiny and often soul-less stadia.
I'm not saying Liverpool and Sheffield are the nicest of cities, but the thought of fans across the world coming to milton keynes and spending a week or so there doesnt appeal:lolol:

According to the Torygraph this morning, Liverpool already have planning permission for their new stadium, its just a question of timing due to the current financial climate.

are they any more out of date than St James Park, Hillsborough or the many others? Old trafford has a bit of redevelopment on one end in the 90's, does that means it makes the cut, and ahead of Man city stadium? seems some odd critieria have been used. maybe some brown envelopes too.

Seems a fair spread.

Happy about WHL being there if built.
