All joking aside, I have just heard on the news that there really is serious suspicion over this, the Police have sealed the Hotel!

who would be suspects?

the day after he was found, the chairman quit, as did every member of the board of selectors? could it be them?
could be a player? could it be fans, as some of the protests being held in pakistan looked quite bad

So if one of the guests inside the building were to ask a policeman whereabouts they're allowed to go, the answer would be "not out"?

I have just deleted a rather long and convoluted joke about cordoning off the area and only 2 policemen are allowed outside it until the 30th over.

To whom it may concern - it wasn't very funny.

So there's a rumour that Woolmer was about to blow the whistle on the relationships between players and betting syndicates.....

don't look for a pun, there isn't one.

Good article, that. Oooh, the intrigue...

"...one act of violence in a city famed for it had the potential to undermine everything.

And now, it appears, it's happened, although the list of potential suspects is not confined to dangerous men of the street. Players will also be interviewed.

There are many puzzling key questions including: was it true the team had a major argument soon after returning from its loss to Ireland?

Who or what was responsible for the marks on Woolmer's throat? Why was the vomit in his room splashed in usually high places on the wall? Why was there blood on the floor?

Why was there no sign of a break-in in Woolmer's room if there was an intruder? Did he know the person?

All sorts of rumours have swept the Caribbean.

One website brazenly said traces of poison were found in Woolmer's room.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz, the loosest of loose cannons, claimed betting syndicates could be to blame but, if they were, it seemed a quick strike.

The only thing not in dispute is that the atmosphere at the Pegasus Hotel has become desperately sombre. "

It is intriguing but what's the implication, really? That the players killed him?

Wouldn't have thought the players would have touched him.

Pakistani cricket is well dodgy though, jstu by reading Mushy's autobiography you can tell there is something there that is pretty nasty. I'm not saying they had anything to do with this but it wouldn't surprise me.

Funnily enough, that was my first thought when I heard he'd died. But I'm always looking for pretty far-out stories.

I think a betting syndicate could be involved, though. It's unlikely to be a local toe-rag, so one of the two former 'suspects' methinks.

Unless Al Qaeda have taken to assassination rather than mass-slaughter :glare:

If we get to the bottom of this and find that the Pakistani's have killed a Kent legend....well....they think they've got problems with the Americans on their doorstep? It'll be a whole new jihad.

Bob Woolmer's wife doesn't seem to regard it as in any way suspicious.

I guess she'd know more than most.
