Last week I went in on the offchance and asked if they had any Mario Karts for the Wii in stock or due in. "NO" was the answer (obviously), until one of the urchins behind the counter then said "oh hang on though - we had one ordered a while back but the customer then cancelled without paying for it - that one should still be in on Thursday".

"Alright then" says I. "I'll have that one please". I paid for it, they took my mobile number, and said I'd get a confirmation text when it arrived. Thursday came and went, no text, so I phoned on Friday. Girly says "I thought I saw it, I swear I saw it come in, but I can't find it now". Rolling eyes heavily I said I'd pop in tomorrow and hopefully they'll have "found" it.

So I go there on Saturday, with receipt, and say "I should have a Mario Kart here to collect ?" Urchin behind the counter fetches an apologetic manager who informs me that the Mario Kart did indeed come in - but they went and sent the confirmation text to the ORIGINAL customer who had ordered it but then cancelled it. This wanker had received the text, sauntered into Woolies, showed the text message, and fecked off with MY Mario Kart, that I'd paid for, without paying.

Once this was realised, the manager phoned him back on his mobile and said what he'd done was theft - either he brings the game back, or he pays for it, or they get the police involved. Wankchops then came down, avoided the manager, left the £35 on the desk and scarpered.

Long and short of it is I still have no Mario Kart, and nowhere has it.
Why do I BOTHER ordering stuff from Woolies. They are the very definition of SHIZER when it comes down to it.

*sigh*
Thanks for listening.

worth it as it made me chuckle. but, why buy anything from Woolies apart from pic and mix? Go to a shop that sells games.

Yes, the pic'n'mix was the only reason I ever shopped at Woolies, but about 18 months ago, they had the usual store 'makeover', rebranded pic'n'mix as 'Candy King', and half of the sweets I used to indulge in, like Cadbury's Roses and Quality Street, they've withdrawn from stock.

Woolies are absolute shite, and the soooner they go out of business, the better.

This is serious news. Much more important than all this Adams nonsense. Can you still get sherbet fruits? ???

Which store were you the manager at???

Right now, I'd agree entirely with your assessment. The sooner I get out of the f***ing hellhole, the better.

If Woolies didn't already exist - no one would invent them. They are mediocre at everything they sell and it can't be long before they vanish from the high street.

That said, a few months ago I went hunting for xbox 360 wireless adaptor - none to be found anywhere in Brighton except Woolies. They also came up trumps with my Wii Fit a few weeks ago when everywhere had sold out so perhaps they aren't all bad...

I bought 2 very comfortable, lightweight, adjustable SUN LOUNGERS from Woolies last week and they are fantastic in every way. And they were reduced.

A chum of mine used to work in the London Road branch. Apparently they had NO security locks on the front doors, or CCTV cameras. As a result the only way they could prevent overnight break-ins was leaving lots of large items up against the front doors.

As you might realise, this was NOT very sucessful.

Southwick Square.
They f***ed me over with my Guitar Hero a couple of years ago as well when I ordered it and it came in about 3 weeks after they said it would (and before you ask - I had some Woolies VOUCHERS in my wallet to use up, which is the only reason I ordered it from them).

I'm going to go there this afternoon and do a big smelly fart by the pic-n-mix.

You can borrow mine if you want. I got it at my local Woolies. Nearly got it for free too.
