Does anyone know what they've done to "improve" the junction there that warranted 5 weeks of roadworks and serious delays ?

Have i missed something ? :glare:

The same thing is currently happening at the Eastern Road/Edward Street junction!

As for Woodingdean I wonder if it is preparatory work for light resequencing when the Amex opens?

Otherwise:shrug:

That's the only thing i could think of. if you go down from Falmer to the crossroads, they've put two new streetlight poles set back from the grass verge. I was wondering if they're going to put a slip road where the verge is to stop the traffic build up when people want to turn right at the lights.

Why they could'nt of done it all in one go when the road was already dug up i don't know

Seemed like a complete waste of time. I read somewhere they were going to improve the junction by adding a right hand filter lane to reduce queues, but it didn't happen. They put it back as it was.

Have the works finished there for the time being now?
Used to go that way in the mornings but have been making a detour recently.

Indeed. So when ARE they going to do it then? Christmas would be a sensible idea when the traffic is lighter in the rush hours.

Was driving past there the other day and a car had gone and smashed into the bollard in the middle of the crossroads. Money and time well spent I see :lolol:

While we're at it, does anyone know why all our pedestrian crossings no longer have a green man box on the opposite side of the road, but TWO where you press the button (which are far less visible than the old system)? Has someone got shares in that company?
