I didn't think we were that bad in general last night, but we lacked invention. Also, as others have said, we virtually never got any second balls after they had cleared. As with nearly everyone else, I thought Jarrett should have been on much earlier in the game. Paul Ince is still the cheating git he always was. Ince was everything I used to loath about Manchester United. I think we should note that Pierluigi Collina, the best referee in the world, had to send him off once in an England game (against Sweden I think).

Defenders and keepers make mistakes...I'm more concerned about our attacking play. In the games I've seen at home this season which has been all except for the Preston game, we are coming up against some extremely tall and lanky defenders that are going to restrict goal attempts in open play---particularly Leon Knight.

sorry dont buy that, we would have got a point last night even if we had not scored, but as kuipers made a mistake we didnt even get one

maybe kuipers should have come for it but that dosent excuse kerry's half harted attempt to clear the ball

I must say, as soon as I saw the ball coming over, I thought that Kuipers should have been going for it. Millar should never have had the chance to score. Mayo did make a half arsed attempt though.

I didn't think El-Abd and Hinshelwood did too well. They went to sleep at the throw in then let the Wolves player get past and put in the cross.

Again,I see nothing that frightens me in this division, wolves basically had the finishing clinicalness which last night we didn`t.We played some bloody good stuff and passed well but when wolves got the ball they broke quickly and although we had tons of posession we lacked the killer ball to really open them up.
Leon again just looked out of sorts and we really need a big strapping centre forward but obviously they cost money which we ain`t got and if we could get one then play-offs would be a realistic target, but I think mid table will do this year.

I thought we would get a 1-1 draw but still think we did well in holding Wolves to a 1-0 win.

FDM should have come for the initial cross, and it would have saved all that confision. It was a pathetic jump by Kerry, I can only think he was being held down. And hopefully not by pasties.

They were quicker and stronger at the back, quicker and more inventive up front, and had a midfield that could hold the ball. We still looked good for a point. Until the goal.

QPR will tell us more. And to be honest, I am not feeling confident.

If we had Lesscott and Miller in our team we would walk this league.

Virgo showed his limitations: he gets offside too much and hasn't got that anticipation in the box.
i've seen far more inept performances from albion strikers i didn't think virgs did 2 bad

I thought Virgo did alright last night and was one of the better players on the day.

I thought Kerry got caught under the ball rather than being able to attack it, but otherwise I thought he did alright.
Getting caught offside is not always the forward's fault... sometimes you have to expect the ball carrier to recognise the run and relaease the ball a tad earlier.
I thought we did well for the first 20 minutes but then faded a while after they scored.
I was quite impressed with Nicolas (1st game for me this season) but thought that we need to be more inventive between midfield and forward players in creating space for passes to be made(cross overs -side to side and end to end- and rotations) just to keep the opposition guessing .
I thought Wolves defended well though.
Wolves kept good possession and moved the ball short / mid range very quickly and accurately. Whilst they didn't create that much it meant the ball was kept away from us.
There was one break in the first half where we had them under pressure and they won the ball and swept upfield in a flash, that was quality !
All in all it was a bit frustrating. I thought we played well enough to get a draw, though I can't say I thought we deserved any more than that.

Let me reassure you DKM, Mrs Pasty and I had nothing to do with it - in fact Mrs Pasty wasn't even there!

That was the biggest problem judging by your signature. Please ensure Mrs Pasty does attend in future ;)
