Hoddle said after the game "I am frustrated, if I had a cat I would probably kick it". That's not very nice Glen! :lolol:

Great performance from the lads and thoroughly deserved the point we got.

Our goal was top comedy as, being at the far end and behind a group of players, none of us knew it had gone in until the players started celebrating.

With the attacking players Wolves have, there were always going to be times when we were would be required to soak up some pressure and we did it very well. When they did get round our defence, Kuipers made three (from what I recall) quality saves. At the other end we caused Wolves problems too and could well have nicked all three points.

Around 1700 or so Albion fans were in good voice and there was some banter with our Wolves colleagues the other side of the very narrow no mans land.

The players were as delighted as we were at the final whistle and Booker gave his usual 'salute'.

Great day out and what following the Albion is all about. I hope the Spurs day out is as good for all the glory hunters...

Way out West
Just got back - Bozza must have beaten me by a few mins. Entirely agree with his comments, although if we'd won it would have been a bit of daylight robbery. Kuipers was superb, and he had to be - Wolves are the best team I've seen us play this season (including West Ham and Sunderland - I didn't go to Ipswich or Wigan). They passed slickly, moved the ball all over the pitch and seemed to threaten us everytime they came forward. It was obvious after only a few minutes why we played the formation we did. Whatever McGhee called it, to me it looked like we played two full backs on each wing (Virgs and Reid on the right and Mayo and Harding on the left. McGammon was our only disappointment - despite his height he hardly won anything in the air. Virgs, Hinsh and Butters were all superb. Chippy and Charlie had LOADS to do in midfield, and frequently got outnumbered, but battled away fantastically. Couldn't see our goal, but apparently it was Harty!

Wolves fans wre a good-humoured bunch, and the "segregation" was great - can't imagine them using the same system for the visits of Cardiff or Leeds!

Great reception for the lads at the end - almost as good a day out as Watford and West Ham. Interestingly, Coventry, Watford and PLymouth are all getting sucked into the danger area....next two games are MASSIVE.....

No BB, was back here around 7:15 just in more of a hurry for wine than the web.

Seen the goal on Sky Sports News - header from Butters and it seemed to sort of go under Hart's foot or brush his shin or something where he was standing, back to goal, about 2 or 3 yards out. I won't begrudge him claiming it though.

Table is very interesting - QPR lost 5 on the bounce now and Watford winless in 11, I think. 3 or 4 points from those games will stand us in good stead.

Just back. Good result (could have been a great one, but we decided to play the ball in the corner with 5 mins to go instead of looking for the win!).

'Harding in played quite well shocker'- looked comfotable on the ball and didn't do much wrong. Virgo, back in defence, was immense. Seemed to win everything. As did big Guy (if only Gary Hart had let the big man's header in, I had him at 33/1!).

We looked solid throughout, Chippy appears back to somewhere near his best. I have started to see why Millwall fans are not best impressed with McCammon, tries so hard, achieves so little.

Good day all in all, and as an added bonus I made it back to the car park with 2 mins to spare, or the fee would 've more than doubled!

4 pts from Xmas period thus far, if we can replicate that over this weekend, than glad tidings to one and all it will be.

Shit, just realised I have to go back to work in the morning. Bugger!

Not entirely sure about that ... on the way out, a few were less than hospitable! Agree with the above comments on the team generally, I hope McGhee will stick with Virgo at the back now, he was excellent for the first time in months alongside Hinsh and Butters. Leon has to come in for QPR on that showing - as much as anything, McCammon seemed to benefit from playing alongside him, and his crosses brought something to our play. Good show all round!

was looking through upcoming fixtures and reckon that plymouths stand out and they could really get dragged down to the dogfight. they have Wolves away then Ipswich home and Gillingham away. if they dont get much from those games and its more than possible they could get zilch then february could really do for them as they play 3 of the top five.

I would hope that so long as Gillingham don't all of a sudden turn into a good team, that Plymouth get a result against them.

Agree with everything there!

It was even worse for me for our goal - the girl in front of me decided to wave her Play-Off flag just as the ball came in from the corner...!!

4 points from 2 games is great. As long as Forest and Gillingham and Rotherham keep throwing points away we could welll find ourselves safe a few games from the finish and avoid the pressure of having to get results at the back end of the season. QPR and Watford are both games we can win or at worst avoid defeat. We owe QPR after they nicked it against us earlier on this year.

It's funny to head back to the Albion v Gillingham thread and read about all the doom and gloom at 1/2 time of that game and to see the difference a mere 135 minutes of football later. :lolol:

He's at work today I believe but I think I can guess what his reply would be. Kuipers might well have played OK but Roberts would have kept a clean sheet! :lolol: :lolol:

If your assumption is that I am saving up for Oz then you would be correct. 6 weeks Saturday and can't wait :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
You are insulting me by saying that I would ever say that Kuipers is having an ok game though :p :lolol: :lolol:

Walking back round to the other side of the ground after the game we encountered a severe bottleneck. Shuffling through in very close company to many of the gold and black. We heard one loud individual going in the opposite direction shout "f***ing Brighton bastards!" in a very strong black-country drawl. When my 9-year-old daughter replied; "Ahh, shut yer face!" a steady trickle of laughter rippled through the considerable Wolves throng.

PS Told her to keeps her's shut too after that .....
