I mean, what's the point in comparing them?

They both did/are doing well here. One of them left, the other will go one way or another at some point. It's not like we can go back and force Potter to stay to see if we'd have done as well with him still as manager.

For what it's worth, I tend to think a manager makes only a very marginal difference in and of themselves. It's not surprising that when injuries and sales strip us back to a team closer in quality to what we had most of the time under Potter we get results closer to what we had under him.

Not sure - for his position he’s only scored against Liverpool (ok you can have that) , Burnley, Luton & Sheff Utd.

That’d be great if you could sign top Premier League standard players on 3 month contracts. Of course, you’d also be relying on them to settle immediately and slot in seamlessly to our style of play. Oh, and not destroy the wage structure in the process.

We don’t need to fill our squad because we’ve one of the best crops of brilliant youngsters anywhere in Europe.

The wage structure argument is overstated.
Our wage spend has been going up fairly consistently over the past 3 seasons.

The reason that we haven't filled thegaps, is because we won't overpay, which is perfectly correct.
I don't have an argument with the reasons that we are where we are.

I'm just calling out that the idea that we have a "big squad" is not factually correct.
If the recruitment team had been able to find a couple of centre-mids and a full back for the right price, then our squad would have been bigger this season.

We are a poor side at the moment and a lot of it comes down to De Zerbi tactics and team selection but also our failure to get anyone in midfield or defence in January.

Credit to Wolves who got the job done and all you need to do versus us, wait until we gift you a goal and then defend.

Nothing wrong with going backwards, but we weren't moving the ball quickly and accurately, which is when our style starts to come into it's own.

In an ideal world, we wouldn't have had to rely on Hinshelwood , Buonanotte, Adingra for the number of minutes we have this season.
They've all developed incredibly well from it, but we have been reliant on them, more than is wise.

What do we have numbers wise in the first team squad - 29, isn’t it? That would normally be more than enough to ride out injuries and rotate etc. But you can’t legislate for having as many injuries as we’ve had. It’s hard enough when you get injuries to key players like Pedro or Estupinan for 5-6 weeks, but 4 of our first-choice players have suffered long-term injuries of half a season or longer. I think any PL team would struggle.

Not making any judgements.
I understand why we have the squad we have.

There are a few posters who tend to say that the squad's too big, and it would be bad if we had any more players in the squad.
The truth is, if we could have got more players in, for the right price, we would have done.

De Zerbi has said many times that we are too dependent on teenagers.

We are still 7th in the league.

None of the games that we've drawn were games we should have lost.

to be fair I would take them over Milner & Lalana any day of the week and a number of other seniors.
