We are a poor side at the moment and a lot of it comes down to De Zerbi tactics and team selection but also our failure to get anyone in midfield or defence in January.

Credit to Wolves who got the job done and all you need to do versus us, wait until we gift you a goal and then defend.

2nd paragraph there’s something in, but first paragraph is bollox. RDZ is having to patch together a team, week after week, and adapt shape and tactics to whoever happens to be fit that week.

Your 2nd paragraph there’s something in, but that’s for the reasons outlined in my 1st paragraph.

Yep, totally. Hoping that lots of the rubbish posted on here tonight is just folk letting frustrations out and in the cold light of day they realise actually we're doing pretty bloody well all things considered. I saw the line up and subs and thought christ we are in for it tonight
Think a lot of people are frustrated because there are quite a few games this season we should have won but drew or lost and tonight was another.

In the morning when people take stock we are still doing well especially considering key injuries.

Corrected for you!
:)

We have already scored 5 more league goals than Potter's best season and have a +8 GD (Potter finished with -2)

The football we have watched this season is a good deal better than what we had with Potter
Sometimes we jsut come up against decent manager's who have done a job on us.

Enjoy Rome for its sights but if we play there like we did tonight we can expect a real thumping.
Except Roma won't play like Wolves did. I am just back from the game (I live in the Midlands). A few observations.

Steele did make a mistake that was frankly a bread-and-butter take for him but it was too easy for Lemina to get on the end of it, Estupinan was at fault there for not being strong enough. We had 3 or 4 chances that should've been put away (Moder, Facundo, Welbz, and Bizarely Steele). I think RDZ in his desperation to win made mistakes with his subs. Fati would have been better with Enciso on the pitch behind him and Baker-Boiety didn't do much. Barco and Enciso were both good, if we'd had them playing like that for 45 mins we'd have scored.

Wolves were awful, had no ambition to try and play us properly, time-wasting, rolled around, etc and the ref was uneven with yellows and fouls in their favour.

All in all very disappointing and very easy to feel like the season could unravel (even text my mates that it might). However we controlled the game and had an off night in the final 3rd, WBG will be in Rome and hopefully, we won't have to wait for Joao Pedro (who would have made a difference in my view).

Anyway it doesn't matter because we didn't actually play tonight according to the BBC news - not a f*cking mention.

I really can't see the season "unravelling" as a few posters have indicated it might.

Hopefully RDZ can galvanize the boys to get a decent result from our next two games .

Yep - load of nonsense on here tonight. We have 9 injuries ffs in what's been a season of injury woes. Amazing we are where we are really. Not sure who some folk on here suddenly seem to think we are.
Not sure where 9 comes from. Premier League says 6: March. Mitoma, Milner, Pedro, Hinshelwood, Ferguson. Aston Villa have 7, Chelsea 9, Liverpool 13, Man U 9, Sheff U 8. We are not alone.

How? Seriously name the chances?

The only really good chance we had was Buonanotte header that went wide.

Even one of the shots on target was Peupion’s take effort that my 7 year old would have saved.

Dunk's header, Steele's near miss at very end, Moder's near miss wide & Buonanotte's near miss. They all SHOULD have been goals.

Gutted as normal when we lose and a game that we really could of won. The injuries are killing us this season and wouldn't be surprised if we just meander to a mid table finish along with being knocked out by Roma in Europa League. The likes of Liverpool can have 8 9 10 players out and cope, we can't

Yes, we outclassed Wolves for the entire match (as we did Everton on Sat) and their fans admitted as much in the pub. But I do think a lot of teams have sussed us - defending deep, catching us on the break... Stating the bleeding obvious, but we need to be better at converting our possession into clear-cut chances. RDZ of course knows this. Keep the faith*

Nothing wrong with going backwards, but we weren't moving the ball quickly and accurately, which is when our style starts to come into it's own.
we constantly gave Wolves time to reorganise.
I'd actually argue that in fact its us who are taking the time to reorganise, in order to prevent getting hit on the break - its something we've been doing for a while now. I look at the West Ham away game, the Everton game, the Palace games, last night - we've been slower and more deliberate - and the opposition haven't been able to cut through us like they have done in the past at will (West Ham, Everton obviously come to mind).

I do believe its a conscious change, one similar to what GP did after we conceded a lot on the break early in his tenure - and probably not surprising there are lot of frustrating performances as a result.

That was Steele's fault obviously but what the f***ing hell is JPVH doing? In the last 3 games he's been rash and over committed.

1. Sheff Utd - slides in and concedes a pointless corner which they score from (disallowed)
2. sythes down Beto out wide who's going nowhere and Everton nearly score from Garner's free kick
3. 50 seconds in and over commits and Belgarde turns him leaving Peupinion to chase and he couldn't get back.

Someone coach him when to commit and dive in!
Give him a break mate - he's been outstanding for us this season.

There will always be occasional mistakes at the back because of the way we play.
