No I didn't think we needed a better manager, and I'll go one further. I didn't think we' d get one.
But we did.

De Zerbi has consistently had his best performing players taken away from him and has carried on producing results.

It's worth remembering that in amongst Potter's great start, there was a typically woeful performance at Fulham.
There was no guarantees that Potter would have taken us any further than he had the season before.
No, no guarantees. No guarantees that he wouldn't either.

Getting frustrated with an inability to score.......there's a certain sense of deja-vu, would you not agree?

Can people stop comparing Potter's management career here to RDZ's. With RDZ the unbelievable becomes reality (qualify for Europe via the league). With Potter, 'it is what it is.'

Europa was never really unbelievable - it was ambition shared by Barber and used as a stick to beat the club with when they hired Potter. If we finished 8th-12th we are probably achieving what we should be.

Yep, no centre forward available, probably rather not have played Becks but he put a shift in anyway, and we play with a load of kids. I mean, at times our final balls were poor, but I still think much of our football is great to watch.

There’s a make shift midfield and then there’s tonight, and they still looked in control for most the night. Yes that final bit of quality was absent, but yeah 9 players out, and many we’re bringing through ahead of schedule.

Yep, totally. Hoping that lots of the rubbish posted on here tonight is just folk letting frustrations out and in the cold light of day they realise actually we're doing pretty bloody well all things considered. I saw the line up and subs and thought christ we are in for it tonight

The truth is that we have one of the smallest squads in the Premier League.
With 4 ( I think) places not taken.

We have a lot of high quality U21s to bolster the numbers, but we did have space to increase the size of the squad to help us come through a difficult Jan - March.
That’d be great if you could sign top Premier League standard players on 3 month contracts. Of course, you’d also be relying on them to settle immediately and slot in seamlessly to our style of play. Oh, and not destroy the wage structure in the process.

We don’t need to fill our squad because we’ve one of the best crops of brilliant youngsters anywhere in Europe.

Are you suggesting that these things are challenging or problematic? ???

4 places not taken by senior players, but we have a good number of U21s that are ‘starting’ players and not back ups:

Enciso
Adingra
Buenanotte
Ferguson
Hinshelwood
Baleba
Bart
Fati

Apart from Baleba, all of these are regular starters.

Yeah but we know we can score now.
Remember when we used to wait game after game for a goal at home under Potter?

De Zerbi ball relies on moving the ball much quicker in the final third.
We didn't have the personnel to do that today.

Potter ball was hoping to slowly move the ball into the perfect position.
It was even less successful against the low block.

Perhaps - but we have the highest amount of draws in the league - 2 more than the nearest.

So we can score more often than not - but generally because we are already losing

Yes agreed, but we aren't the only team with a load of U21s to boost the squad.
In an ideal world, we wouldn't have had to rely on Hinshelwood , Buonanotte, Adingra for the number of minutes we have this season.
They've all developed incredibly well from it, but we have been reliant on them, more than is wise.

With Potter it is what it might have been then?

You actually know?

That's an unnecessarily beak view of it though.
We are still 7th in the league.

None of the games that we've drawn were games we should have lost.
