Do you also have no interest in the Premier league because City are still in that, and no interest in the Europa League because of Liverpool?
Of course not as there is always the remote possibility of one day making the top 4, but Man City just have the Indian sign over almost everyone and whilst they are still in the cup it's theirs to lose. Personally I just hope we don't suffer any more injuries tonight before Saturday.

Probably trying to line it up with his teletext updates or something.
Ha! Yes. Now waiting for page 1/3 on 306 Ceefax to scroll round again could be a little frustrating. I hate to think how many hours in 90 minute blocks I've wasted, staring at bloody Ceefax page 306. But a 30 second delay on a live stream on iPlayer? That's within my tolerance levels.

Could it be that he has live score update notifications on his phone or something? (OBVIOUSLY switch these off when watching on a stream with lag).

Otherwise there are some who just can't handle the idea they're not in real time when watching a live sports event.

I've never watched a live game on iPlayer before.
Presume it's just like a stream but without adverts and buffering.

I suspect the 30 second delay will only be an issue for the purists who like to watch TV visuals in sync with radio comms from Jonny and Warren

Did I see somewhere that Wolves are currently on an unbeaten run of 11 in all competitions?
I fear we are in for a tricky evening ....

During the ongoing test series in India I realised I would see if a wicket fell on the cricinfo website about 30seconds before it actually happened.
Quite amusing when the commentator's in the middle of saying how well the batter's playing. Also irritating when it's an England player.
My serious assumption was that it was to tie in with the radio commentary. Which would presumably be easier to do the other way around if you listen on the Sounds app (i.e. pause the radio for 30seconds until it comes into sync).

Plus having your phone set up for goal alerts…can be annoying when you get an alert and the opposition is on the attack….leaves you thinking have they scored or is it another game (if not interested in other games, phone gets turned off)

Not a problem at all. The speed of sound is around 340m/s, so simply place your radio between 10-20km from your television to sync up the audio with the video. If it's still a little out, simply move the radio back or forth until perfect.

typically pessimistic for this one (I find my BHA-supporting football life easier that way!!) but this is a big game for Wolves given they are safe and nothing major to aim for (Europe qualification not realistic through PL) . This isnt our biggest game in the next 7 days and, whilst we are as well equipped as Wolves to win this trophy, given our lack of first-choice firepower this week specifically, I just can't see us getting too much from it unless they they are unusually reckless at the back or we are unusually dogged in defence.

We're one point behind you in the league, and currently one of the form teams over the last 10 matches. There's probably more chance in the league than the cup.

Excuse my nosiness - but why does it matter?

As I suspect is the case with most people on this forum, I'm in quite a few Albion related group chats. There is always someone watching without a delay, usually because they're abroad. I find it really, really annoying when a goal/big moment is spoiled by a f***ing WhatsApp notification...

This is usually only an issue when I have to watch via a dodgy stream or Prime, not sure I've watched us on iPlayer before.

And yes, I am aware I can turn my phone off or put it on silent...

I'm quietly confident now for some reason. A bottle of cheap red, some one else cooking tonight and a legal stream will do that to you!

I get that - I do have to turn my phone face down, when watching a stream, to avoid notifications.
