Could it be that he has live score update notifications on his phone or something? (OBVIOUSLY switch these off when watching on a stream with lag).

Otherwise there are some who just can't handle the idea they're not in real time when watching a live sports event.

I always have the live score updates on so I can properly watch the build-up to each goal. It also allows me to get the cat within range when we concede.

I can't bear delay as well. I have a Singapore service that's 20 second delay which I can just about hack. My mate has given me his Dutch service which is an incredible 5 seconds behind. But in Dutch !
