Previous seasons after 11 games, since the Championship began:

(2015-16 Brighton 25pts)
2014-15 Norwich 21 promoted via play-offs (3rd)
2013-14 Burnley 26 promoted, runners up
2012-13 Cardiff 22 Champions
2011-12 Southampton 23 promoted, runners up
2010-11 QPR 27 Champions
2009-10 Newcastle 24 Champions
2008-09 Wolves 25 Champions
2007-08 Watford 26 6th
2006-07 Cardiff 26 13th (WTF????)
2005-06 Sheffield Utd 30 Runners up
2004-05 Reading 22 7th

So 3 teams leading after 11 games in the 11 years of the modern Championship manage to phuque it up... Will we be the fourth?

It's ranging from the deluded to the depressingly pessimistic in here tonight.

Interesting that it is 8 years since a team in our position at this point in the season has failed to get promotion. I really had, up until now, been taking it one game at a time. No sorry, I am not biting, I am still going to take one game at a time. Prod me again March/April next year.

to put a slightly more optimistic spin on it.....can we be the 8th club in row to be leading after 11 games and get promoted?!

Agree with CMS that I'll get excited if we're still at the top of the pile come Crimbo.

What's the stat for teams leading at 12 games in (which we are certain to do) ?

(2015-16 Brighton 25pts min)
2014-15 Watford 24 promoted, runners up
2013-14 Burnley 29 promoted, runners up

2012-13 Leicester 25 6th
2011-12 Southampton 26 promoted, runners up
2010-11 QPR 28 Champions
2009-10 West Brom 24 promoted runners up
2008-09 Birmingham 26 promoted, runners up
2007-08 Watford 29 6th
2006-07 Cardiff 29 13th
2005-06 Sheffield Utd 30 Runners up
2004-05 Wigan 24 promoted, runners up

25 points would put us 8th in a table of totals after 12 games, 26 would put us 6th, and 28 in 5th. So not an exceptional start to the season as things go - but well in the middle of the pack.

The posh bit
I like this fact.
The team top of the league on 1 November has always been promoted.

Looking at fixtures. That will be us or Reading.

I love Stato threads, we need more at this moment in time.

Interesting that only one of those became Champions

Maybe the Albion just got lucky, but they seem to be benefiting from having an intelligent, level-headed, down-to-earth proper footballing man at the helm finally. Or maybe just getting rid of the Burke playing fantasy football with a real database and no real football knowledge was the key.
